Preheat your oven to 25 degrees lower than the package says. Then take a long strip of foil and cover just the edges of the pie( like a halo). The thawed edges will bake so much faster than the rest of the pie. Then bake it as usual. Just check it every 20 minutes or so. Everyone's oven is different.

Making more room in your freezer

Although plastic containers are certainly convenient for storing frozen foods, freezer bags can actually save room. Place your cooled soups, stews, or fresh fruits and vegetables in a zip freezer bag. Close the zip top almost all the way. Then gently press out the remainder of the air and finish zipping the top shut. Place your freezer bag on a flat surface such as a small baking sheet and place the sheet in the freezer. After a few hours, check the contents of the bag. If they are frozen, remove the baking sheet and stack your thin bags, saving space and saving time when you're ready to thaw the contents. Thinner items thaw in less time.

Can I freeze unbaked fruit pie made with oil pie crust?

Yes you can no problem. Bake from Frozen for an hour at 350'F.

Better if the crust is all butter! Freeze if and grate it into the flour, add water and cut in with a knife.

How long do I bake frozen lemon mergeran pie

Hello, James -

You have not stated if the frozen lemon meringue pie is one you or someone else made and froze, or if it is a commercially made frozen pie.

If it is a commercially made lemon meringue pie, it probably just needs thawing before serving. Instructions will be printed on the box.

If the pie is homemade and frozen, it was probably baked before freezing, so all it may need is some thawing.

Why do I have trouble getting my Marie Callendar's fruit pies to set up? Is there a tip?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'set up', but are you cooking them while they are still frozen? I believe that's what it says on the package. If you follow their directions, you should have no problems. Also, is your oven temperature correct? Sometimes when you set it at 350, it's really hotter or colder, so I would check that, too. You can buy a temp gauge at the store, they're not all that expensive. Also, after baking, let the pie sit out for about an hour to firm up.

I made an apple pie and froze it. How do I bake it now?

Bake it, frozen, at 350F. Keep an eye on it, let it cook until the juice comes out the holes in the top crust, cover the edges with foil if they're getting too brown.

It'll take close to an hour, stick with it and it'll be nice.

Don't thaw it before putting it in the oven, it'll make the crust gummy.

We have recently purchased a Coopers halogen oven. I cooked a frozen fruit pie in it and the pastry looked beautiful, but when it was cut open the middle was cold and the pastry under the fruit not cooked....

Frozen food should be defrosted before cooking in halogen ovens.

Halogen ovens use only radiant heat and will not cook the centre of frozen food.
