Once you change your hotmail password you then have to change it in TWO different places in your iPhone settings. 1) Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>click on the email Account you changed the password for>under "Incoming Mail Server" change your password>then scroll down a little farther to your Outgoing Mail Server SMTP and tap that>under Primary Server tap smtp.live.com or whatever it says and make sure it's on>then change the password in here as well under Outgoing Mail Server. Now you will be able to send and receive hotmails like before.

My iphone quit sending emails when I changed my Hotmail password. It would receive them. I fixed this by going to : Settings / mail /accounts (the account you set up) / SMTP / Other STMP servers.
Turn on AT&T SMTP server

You may only have the password in for the incomming mail and not the outgoing mail.

Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and select the email account that is giving you trouble. Make sure you have an outgoing server set up, and verify it is going to the correct address. Your email provider can give you this address. Once you've verified this, if it still isn't working, double check to make sure your username/password is correct.

I just fixed my iphone with the outgoing mail problem. I only had the password in for the incomming mail and not the outgoing mail. Once I entered the password for outgoing mail, it worked like a charm.

You have to re-configure your e-mail settings, that is most likely an incorrect setting for sending e-mail.

SOURCE: I synced my iphone with my outlook email, but

Set up an account on iPhone:
From the iPhone Home screen, tap Settings. Tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” then tap Add Account. Tap an account type:
Microsoft Exchange MobileMe Google email Yahoo! Mail AOL Other
Enter your account information and tap Save.
If its 'other', the iPhone will try to find your settings based on common email servers. If yours is not found, then you'll need your POP3 and SMTP settings. Done correctly, you'll be able to send your emails from your contact list.

IPhone wont SMTP to Exchange server 2003

Exchange Server 2003 is a bit old, have you checked if the model of iPhone/iOS version you are using is compatible? If so, are there any specific outgoing settings that need to be specified?

Lg cookie 500 photo messages wont send

The iPhone doesn't support MMS messaging which includes videos, pictures and sound, it only supports text messages. You can email the photos to someone or yourself to get the pictures off your phone on the go.

I can send e.mails from work from my ipnone 3gs but nowhere else???

Hi,
Base on your question, am I correct? you can send email and receive emails from your Iphone, no problem at all. That mean your Iphone doesnt' have any problem with email.
Elsewhere, such as you use web-base email, you log on email from website and you couldn't send emails from the website??? Is that right? Or you have a email client software, such as: outlook, thunderbird, .. and you can't send email from that.
In my opinion, if you can send and receive emails from Iphone then the email server is ok, your Iphone is working well with email. Problem is the elsewhere you use to send and receive emails, maybe the setting of email client software, maybe the compatible of web browser. If you could, you try the setting, make sure the ports is correct.
Hope this will help. Keep posting your question. I will follow up. Thanks for reading.

I can't send out emails. I'm receiving emails.

The problem seems to be in SMTP server configuration, SMTP server sends email. So, you have to check your SMTP configuration with your email provider.
