After you shut the water off, unscrew the canister, remove old filter and check it against new filter. (They should be the same) check fo arrows (if there are any point in upward position) insert and screw canister back on, fasten securely, turn water back on.

Did truck die on you while driving or just not start one day? It is very likely you need a new fuel pump. AIRTEX Part # E2363M, but double check. Checking bad pump requires OBD II scanner to read codes:

Changing fuel pump is not hard, but takes a set of skills, time & care is also required. 2.3L is fuel injected which means it is in your fuel tank.
(If you had a carburetor the pump would be at front of engine & easier)
You will need a trusty mechanic or some good friends..New pump is about $135 from Rockauto slightly more from O'Reilly etc.. Dealer will double that price, local mechanic will charge $150-180 plus hourly labor.
Something else in addition to air filter, that you can do yourself is change fuel filter & plugs. Get better mileage to help pay for new pump. Fuel filter is about $30 for good one. The fuel filters are located in nearly same location on all Rangers regardless of engine & year.

If it is firing, but doesn't quite want to go also be sure you have spark.
Remove plug wire number one and carefully put a nail into spark plug cap, rest it on the exhaust manifold while you watch have someone turn the engine over for a brief moment to be sure you see spark. DO NOT TOUCH while turning over or you can get a nasty shock.

To change the wick filters of your humidifier:

1. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the wall outlet
2. Remove the tank for the housing.
3. Locate the 3 lock tabs in the base of the unit. Turn them clockwise until the base of the tab lines up with the indentions in the base and lift off the housing.
4. Locate and turn the lock tab clockwise on the base holding the wick fram. Remove the wick frame and set it aside.
5. Remove the old wick by pulling the bottom of the wick out of the frame first and discard.
6. Insert the new wick top first. Ensure wick is in between the tabs at the top of the wick frame then slide the bottom part of the wick into the fram, making sure not to crush the bottom corners of the wick.
7. Reassemble the unit and refill the water tank if necessary.
8. Turn the unit back on and resume operation.

Its not the plugs. It is either the ignition coils or the crank sensor

I am having the same issue. I've just replaced the filter and it started leaking out of this hole, where it never had before.
I am thinking that maybe the filter isn't seated properly, and that's causing the leak. But I have attached a picture of the hole in question. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Your owners manual should show the location and exact procedure for removing them to change them. They should be located up near the air inlet in the cowl, which would place them in the vicinity of the door pillars on either side- in the airflow of the entering air. If you already have the replacements, look for a removable panel (with 2 or 4 screws) slightly larger than the filter is wide and slighly longer than the filter is tall.

According to the Owners Manual, here's what you need to do,

1.Turn the air cleaner OFF and unplug it from the power outlet.

2. Carefully lay the unit down on a flat surface with the Front Grille facing up.

3. Gently push in on Release Buttons on both sides of the unit, pull Front Grille out and away.

4. Remove and discard used HEPA filter.

5. Remove any plastic protective wrapping and from the new HEPA filter.

6. Set new HEPA filter into the air cleaner.

7. Install the Front Grille by engaging its tabs into the bottom slots on the unit. Then swing grille up and gently push in top to snap into place.

8.Turn the Air Cleaner upright and plug it into an outlet for
operation.
