SOURCE: Red light flashing

ctf1800,

I would love to have that service manual. My Philips 37PF7320A died 4 days ago with the typical 1-4 blinking lights. The fuses are fine but I found a 100 ohm 1/4 w resistor that was dead and replaced it, but no change. Now I have looked closer at the "dead" resistor and after the brown-black-brown and there is a poorly applied green band before the gold one, so I'm not sure what I have. I guess I need to get a high resistance tester off eBay.

SOURCE: Philips Plasma NO LIFE

I had the same problem (with 42FD9954/17S) that when turned on the unit, the green LED turned off and came back to red again some time later. I kept turning it on and once it went to a clicking relay sound and blinking green LED with it. It did that for a while and stayed turned on. I noticed that it is temperature sensitive. Colder the room is more often does it. Used a hair dryer and blown hot air into the unit at the left bottom grills. It helped and started to tun on quicker. Later it has deteriorated so bad that I took it a part and after several ice spraying test showed that on the middle big board (power board) there was an electrolyte condenser went bad. It is the one one which is at the middle, bottom center of the board near the fixing screw. There are two of them (cylindrical objects). The left one was the culprit. However when I fixed it, it turns on immediately but goes blinking red after that. Phillips say it is a static discharge problem. I might blown something when soldering the parts. I don't know what. Any ideas?

Having the same tv and problem for a year ago.
I disconnect the main powercord from wall socket
and wait for 2 min. and connect again.
Problem solved. Its not a fix, but maybe it helps?

My phillips 60 inch tv 60pl9200d/37 wont turn on the power button flashes blue

Look in the manual. (Page 4)

Turn the TV on From main supply: Ensure that the main supply is turned on. A blue indicator light on the front of the TV lights up. When the TV is turned on by the main supply, the blue indicator light will blink for 45 seconds. This is the lamp's start-up period. When the light goes off, press the POWER button on the remote control or power switch. Press POWER to turn on the TV.
