Wa75t65gw1 Why is the water stopping within about 6secs of starting to fill? Filled with load and selected wash as normal, water level on auto, the taps kick in and it starts to fill and then the water stops but machine keeps spinning. Tried to take a few clothes out in case load too full, same thing. Tried selecting water level as high instead of auto, same thing. Taps haven't been altered since washing yesterday. What else could be the cause?

After 2 minutes does the machine throw up an error code. Starts beeping and shows a weird pattern of lights?
If so that error code can help us diagnose what your problem is.
If it does give you an error code take a photo and post it back on here so I can see what it is.

SOURCE: washing machine stops mid-cycle and full of water

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

try replacing your water selenoid coming in. remember it isnt a mechanical timer it is a computerized timer, so if the selenoid isnt the problem, it might be the computerized timer. computers are very finicky, pain in the a- -!

SOURCE: My washer fills with water and keeps filling

The problem is simple and easy to fix. Your washer has a tubing which runs from the base of the tub to the water pressure switch. It might have vibrated loose from the switch, or their can be some sediment in the tub. Blow out the tubing and reattach it securely to the switch and pump out the water in the tub. Then try it again. I wrote an article about this:
Help my washer is overflowing !!!

My whirpool wtw4850q1 top load takes too long to sense a load, then fills to the top regardless of load size. Once filled it won't wash, just stops. I can still drain and spin, not rinse and spin.

it doesn't sense a load
just fills with water to the setting that you select
as water runs in there is a water pressure applied in a small hose connected to the control that reacts when that level setti9ng is reached
at that point it turns of the tap and moves on to the wash cycle
indicates you have a program board problem

Why would a washing machine fill to proper level and then stop. no action after filling.

Power was never the issue or it wouldn't have filled at all. Also the pressure switch that detects water level must be okay since it stopped filling at the proper level. That leaves the control board or a relay that the control board uses to start the drum motor.

I put in a load. The machine filled up but did not stop filling. The dial did not proceede to next step, it stayed at the 10. Overflowing EVERYWHERE. When we moved the dial manually to spin, it drained...

your fill switch is either bad or "gllitched" and the timer cannot move until this switch senses the right amount of water for the load unless its an electronically sensed water/load capacity filled machine, when it starts, the water fills the unit and the pressure switch shuts the water fill off when at selected water level and powers the timer to continue the wash cycle,it works off a "bellows" on air pressure to change a switch by air pressure to operate the machine when full of water

Washer didnt fill when turned on, but filled when holding "reset"

sounds like your water level switch is bad OR the small hose that goes from the waterlevel switch to the bottom of the tank has a hole in it.Try replacing this small hose first.you can go to an auto parts store and match it up.it's usually about 3' long and about 1/4" inside diameter and about 99cents a foot.

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.
