Plantar fasciitis can be diagnosed very easily and accurately. Pain in front of the heel, first step in the morning is a clear indicator. Properly fitted full custom orthotics will cure this problem, usually within two weeks or less. But beware, not all orthotics are designed properly. There is plenty of snake oil available. To test your likely benefit from orthotics, roll up a sock, wash cloth or something similar and put it under your arch in your shoes. Feels better, yes? IMHO, Sole Supports makes the best functional orthotic on the market, and are available nation wide from podiatrists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, physical therapists and others. Check their website solesupports.com. In all honesty, I am the general counsel for Sole Supports, but I really believe we have the best product of this type, and have grown from a one man operation behind the inventor\'s house to now having about 100 employees, with gross sales of 8.5 million last year.
David I hope you get this comment. This is no joke. I had plantars fascitis for about 3 years. Suffered %95 of that time. The doc finally told me they could shave the spurs down. My neighbor seen me limping one morn and asked. He told me about ALFALFA AND MINT EXTRACT!!!! He raises horses and give them alfalfa grass for spurs in their knees. I did believe him and he could tell. He left and went to the store, came back with an OTC supplement and told me to take about 20 a day of the little green pills. So I didn't, I took about 10 a day. And NO KIDDING! In 2 weeks the pain was 99% gone! I tell everyone at the shoe store, told the doc, and I'm telling you. It worked for me. You being in the general concil for sole supports, some one there would want to know. I saw your post under fascitis and I had to tell you. Take care!
Thank you Jack for sharing your success story. I have no idea what the A+M extract is doing, but I would suspect it acts to reduce inflammation which can be a good thing. Please be aware that heels spurs are caused by the plantar fascia tearing at the point of attachment because the flattening of the arch increases the distance from the forefoot to the heel. I am glad you have found relief from pain, but you may want to investigate orthotics as a long term cure for your foot pains.

You have Plantar Fasciitis. I leave a link with more information.
Plantar fasciitis is most often seen in middle-aged men and women, but can be found in all age groups. Plantar fasciitis is diagnosed with the classic symptoms of pain well localized over the heel area of the bottom of the foot. Often the pain from plantar fasciitis is most severe when you first stand on your feet in the morning. Pain often subsides quite quickly, but then returns after prolonged standing or walking.
