The beeper works properly but I must turn the beeper off so there is no beeping sound. I will use the bread maker during church.
I agree with the 1st answer: The beeper is important and I doubt that you can turn it off. Why not just muff the sound: Cover the breadmaker loosely with blankets or towels.
You need to look in your owner's manual to see if turning off the beeper is an option.
The beeper is very important to inform you when the bread is ready, when to add ingredients, or if there is a problem with the maker. I am not sure it can be turned off.

SOURCE: Oster Breadmaker -keeps kneading, even during/after baking
What does it knead? An unstuck switch? Ok, give me the bread, I'll hold it till things get better.
Alright. Does theswitch move or is it stuck? I told you that wasn't a mini scale. Are you capable of dis assembling it? Ok, you aren't. Go to a parts store (auto parts) and pick up a spray can of crc electrical cleaner. Then rush home safely and using the straw on the spray, Spray that evil button and work it while doing so until you hear or feel it snapping again. tilt the machine over the sink and let any excess cleaner run out of the machine. Now, this cleaner is flammable so no smoking or cooking going on. This cleaner is also fast drying and any liquid will evaporate and make a huge hole in the ozone layer and you can watch the falling stars while you sit enjoying you unshared bread. :) This cleaner should free up the switch. Do the spraying and draining out doors for fume sake. You may need to lean the machine side to sideas you work the button. Let the machine dry out before plugging it in. About half hour should do it if you have got all the excess liquid out. When you are ready put the switch in the off position and plug it in. If this doesn't correct the problem the switch needs replacing.. If the machine appears to be working right. turn the switch of and on several times until you are ok with its functioning.. Wipe dow the machine to remove any residue left by the cleaner.
Ok, serious now. the cleaner will vcompletely dry up but it may smell for a little bit. If his worked , all yhis one finger typing was not in vain. Good Luck, -Ned_
SOURCE: Oster 5821 Bread Maker: Paddle froze up, does not move
Hi,
That shaft fits into a sealed bearing that is riveted to the bottom of the pan. When that seal freezes there is no way to free it up. The lubrication in the sealed bearing gets hard, especially if it's not used much..You may try putting hot water in the pan and soaking it but other than that the pan will need replacement. Sorry...Hank

Quite normal. The pan shakes about a bit as the dough mixes
