HOW DO I RESET A LITTERMAID LITTER BOX?

The litter box quit working. I have heard that there is a way to manually reset it. Has something to do with some sort of box or switch?

I HAVE A LITTER MAID AUTOMATIC LITTER BOX AND THE FRONT CENCER QUIT WORKING I HAD TO BY HAND WITH MACHINE ON PULL IT BACK INTO POSITION IT TOOK A WHILE BUT GOT IT TO GO BACK THEN LEFT IT THERE & NOW SCOOPING OUT LITTER BY HAND UNTIL I CAN FIND ANOTHER CENCER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY TYPE OF RESET BUTTON ON IT. YOUR CENCERS BOTH FRONT & BACK MAY BE DIRTY TRY CLEANING THEM GENTLY WITH A Q TIP & RUBBING ALCOHOL.

Common problem with Littermaid boxes. Try a better brand of clumping litter. Try using a little less litter. And you can help the rake lift up by slowly pushing on it with something, giving it more strength. I had this problem and found that if I "helped" the rake return to its normal position, it would work most of the time, and then need "help" every once in awhile. I actually gave up on littermaid type boxes...they just don't work very well.

When rake cleans makes loud noise

Open the left side of the box and you'll see a white plastic part covering the hole. Get scissors and cut it out. The metal piece moving the rake was dragging on the plastic and so I cut it out of mine and now it's back to normal !

Littermaid LM980 Turns itself off

I own the second gen version. Just purchased it recently. Mine has an option for a time setting. The switch either goes forward or backward for the automatic cleaning. One side is 20 min intervals the other is via the sensor. I know this is many years late. But I can across your post and thought I would answer.

Litterbox is not working

Usually when this happens it is because there is something obstructing the rake making it impossible for the rake to go back to its original position. If there is nothing in the way, no clumps or bunched up litter, then the rake is not functioning the way it should. Sometimes gently pushing the rake back into its normal position can work. I had a LitterMaid that had this problem and every now and again I would have to "help" the rake with a push. If this doesn't work, then you have a defective litterbox that won't work not matter what... return it for another unit. Good Luck.

I would really like my cat to have a clean litter box throughout the day. Do self-cleaning litter boxes really work? If so, this could be a worthwhile investment.

I would recommend you check out the LitterMaid litter box. It has two sensors on either side of the box that detect when a cat uses it. After 10 minutes, a rake automatically comes and scoops clumps of solid and liquid waste into a disposable container at the end of the litter box. Keep in mind that this does not eliminate you cleaning the box.

Where can I buy a self-cleaning litter box for my cat?

Self-cleaning litter boxes are increasing in popularity and are available at most local pet supply stores in your area or online. Here are a few places for you to search and compare.

My cat has suddenly stopped using his litter box. Why would this be? How can I get him to return to the litter box?

Is there any chance you have recently switched brands of litter? Cats can be extremely particular when it comes to what kind of litter you put in their litter box. If you find one that works, you should stick with it. No need to fix something that isn't broken.

Littermaid plus will not rake

Does it rake halfway and then go back and try again? I have had that same problem and have found it's because of too much litter ni the box. The random time I have noticed. As long as it's raking, I'm happy.
