I know of one specific panel that actually spells out the word "TROUBLE" with a yellow LED behind it. To clear this one you will enter your code + the "TEST" button, then code + "OFF."
But Timothy is right, please give an accurate accounting of what system you are using in order to get an accurate answer.
I recently repaired a system where after replacing the backup battery and failed power transformer, the trouble light would not clear until the TOD clock had been reset. (DSC system)
...indeed !!!!!that always help....and of course missing.
I know on the GE Simon Xt you must power down change battery then power back up. If you don't it will continue to reportt low battery. otherwise you new to know the type of equipment as Timothy stated above.
