I have a motorola v3x and I am attempting to replace the inside screen that has gone blank. Will I need a flex cable as well as a new screen to fix it?? Does a new oem screen usually have the flex cable with it when purchased??? Thanks...

Hi,blank screen for Motorola phones are usually caused by the flex of the phone. Sometimes it might appear in white screen display too.
The flex of the phone is located inside the phone, it controls the functions of the screen an also the keypads of the phone.
The flex is a thread like object that is located inside the phone. To see the flex, you will need to disassemble the phone to get to the flex of the phone.
After replacing the phone flex, your done.
Also it might be the screen of the phone. But in other to know if it's the screen, you will need to test a new flex.
You can get a replacement flex from any of the phone repair stores around you.
The screen blank might also be from the screen itself. But to confirm if it's the screen, you willneed to replace the flex first, and after replacingthe flex,if it doesn't display, then you will know that it's the screen that is damaged.
there is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.
The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.
I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.
If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.
If the phone still works, check to see if the left side of the hinge (when the phone is open and facing you) is loose. If you can wiggle the top 1/2 of the phone, the hinge is damaged, therefore damaging the flex cable that runs through it. If that is the case, replace the hinge assembly and the flex and you're good.
this happens either when u r razr was dropped or have gotten wet...If it fell u need to remove the four screws on the screen and pry the cover off with a possibly thin knife. The flex cable is located at the top left hand side of the screen. you need to take this off and reseat it again.try powering on the phone before u close it back again to ensure that it works. If this doesn't work either your screen or flex cable is gone, then u need to check a phone repair shop.you need either a t6 or a t4 screw driver set to remove the four screws located under the the 4 rubber fillers on the inner screen.
get the new display for ur cell and fit it ... or try to remove the current display and reconnect it ... if it doesnt works then u buy new display ... no need to change the cell... may it may charge aroung 200 -300 rs thats all.... just go 4 it...
Try "hard"-booting the phone -- pull the battery out, wait at least 30 seconds, then put it back in and try to turn it on. If that doesn't work, try putting it on the charger and see if the screen lights up. If it does work while charging, go to the settings menu and look for "master clear" or "master reset"; this will reset the phone to its factory settings which can often fix problems like these.
If you can't get it to light up at all, then you'll have to contact your cell phone provider for technical support and possibly a warranty replacement.
