SOURCE: Connecting a netgear wireless router to a 2wire

before you connect the netgear router to your 2wire modem, you have to get the modem configured first. you did not include the firmware version of your modem (firmware version is found at the UI, go to gateway.2wire.net, click on the system icon.) for firmware version less than 3.7, go to homeportal/management, click on configure services, uncheck enable routing, then click on submit. for version 3.7 or higher, go to homeportal/management, click on configure under broadband link, put a dot in disable pvc search, set VPI to 0 & VCI to 35, the connection type box should be direct IP, then click on submit. then go to configure services, uncheck enable routing box, then click submit. you will notice the broadband link on the 2wire modem turn orange/amber, then you have successfully set the modem to bridged mode. that way you can now connect the router according to manufacturer's instructions (or just read the manual for the netgear router....)

Why can I not connect a MacBook Air with a WD MyCloud using a Nexxtech USB 2.0 Data Link Cable ?

Hi,

The USB port of the My Cloud is designed to be used as an extension port. You may use it to attach another external to the My Cloud or device like a camera. If you prefer cable connection between your PC and your My Cloud, I would recommend you to use an Ethernet cable.

Hope this helps

Why does my nexxtech usb 2 0 data link cable not connect between a WD MyCloud and a MacBook Air

This cable you have is only for transferring data from one computer to another. To transfer data to this drive you must do so over the network or by loading your content onto a USB drive then connecting the USB drive up to the USB port on the WD MyCloud and using the MyCloud app to copy the data from the USB drive to the internal storage of the MyCloud drive. WD Software will not load up, and Windows keeps giving me an I/O error. With the I/O error, I am not able to see or access any files that I have on my WD MyPassport 1TB, SN WXD0AA9W6561

Have you tried another USB port.Try not using a USB hub and plug it into a different port on your PC. Also try temporarily disabling your virus and anti-spyware program. My virus program Antivir always blocks my WD software. There may have been an update that now blocks it. Check all your cables and plugs on the WD drive and if still not working try starting your pc in safe mode and see if the WD drive is recognized. Hope this was some help, Thanks for using FixYa

My WD doesn't appear at my computer. It have energy, and computer recognizes when I plug in, but the drive doesn't appear at My Computer

First, make sure you've downloaded all of the latest drivers and ran the installation CD that usually comes with the device. Then, check the computer manufacturer's information. Your USB ports may not be supplying enough power to run the Passport.

The WD hard disk 160GB is not recognized after plugging into USB

It is very possible that your BIOS will not support a large hard drive. Without more information on your system it will be hard to diagnose your problem.

I have recently bought a Belkin N+ Wireless Modem-Router (model F5D8635-4 v1). It comes with the USB port and I bought a WD 1Tb drive to connect with it. I added the WD drive (92.168.2.1My Book in my...

  • First off, the WD hard drive was meant to be connected to a computer.
  • Therefore connect it to the fastest computer you have or the one running the network.
  • Make that drive a network drive.
  • Set the router to handle DHCP using the web based interface (192.168.1.1 on a linksys router, check your manual for the IP address belkin)
  • The drive apparently has three volumes on it: X: Y: and Z: (network drives)
  • I would backup the WD drive and reformat in NTFS format
  • I dont believe that these drives were meant to be networked. Therefore you get what you get....

WD My Book 1TB not recognised by belkin modem router USB storage

I have a work around for this.

In the detail of the Belkin manuals it says you can attach up to 4 USB storage devices via a USB HUB.

I had an old Hub so I Connected the HUB to the router and the Maxtor to the HUB --- It worked :-) It came up in a few seconds.

At first I powered the HUB but later took the power out of the hub and it still worked ;-} However when I used a different HUB it would not work without power to the HUB.

The HUB I use is an old Belkin 4 port Tetra Hub. The newer 7 port Belkin HUB (5 Rear 2 Top) only worked with the HUB powered.

Hope this helps untill Belkin Upgrade the Router sofrtare.

Cannot finish installing

It means you have to plug in your computer to the router through a ethernet cord. Most computers have one, and on the back of thats router has 4 ehternet female ports. Plug it in, and run it again.
