Where can i find a user manual for Canon PowerShot A710 IS

If the SD card is housed in the same compartment, it is not loaded properly. The card holder is fitted with a spring mechanism to eject, therefore it will exert an outward pressure against the door. This will displace the locking/ unlocking mechanism of the door and will be impossible to open in the normal way.

Remove the tiny SD card from the camera. Slide the tiny switch on the side of the card to its other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card in the camera.

Consider moving the camera further from the document, and then using the zoom (with a tripod) to close in on the document. You may also need to use a "book holder" with this technique. The A710 also has many manual features that you can tweek. Consider using manual focus to ensure sharpness in the image of the document. Also try varying Shutter and Aperture priority (Tv and Av) settings. Recommend first doing this at home to find what works best before going to the library.
