How to remove links from timex ironman data usb wristband

The wristband is too large.

  • hskimball Jun 30, 2009

Thanks. It took a lot of pressure to remove the pins.

Using vise pliers, I clamped onto a similar size pin and exposing just a i/4 inch projection forced it into the hole that was slighly indented. The pins could then pull it out the otther side with regular pliers.

Most metal bands simply need the folded edges bent upright and the link fasteners removed. They look like small staples. If you don't have this type, use a small paperclip, held in a pair of vice grips to push the pins out. Put them back in the way you took them out. the holes will loosen if you don't put them back in the way they were.

You might try going to this Timex repair link and ask them for a list of authorized Timex repair shops in your area. Or you could send it back to them.
