If you have multiple IDE drives, try switching the data cables on the back of them.

You may need to install memory in matching pairs. If the new memory is a single 1Gb module and you didn't already have a similar one they may not work together. Try removing the original module(s) and see if it makes a difference.

SOURCE: Dell (ie optiplex 330) would not boot with the orange light on

Do you have a lot of accessories plugged in? They may have overloaded the power supply and if this is the case you will need to buy new power supplies. If this is not the problem, check to make sure that the computers have plenty of ventilation in the back. If they don't, they may have overheated and melted quite a few different components.

SOURCE: in my dell desktop optiplex 330 hard disk is

Is it a BIOS password or a HDD password? If it's sewt in BIOS, you could try to reset the BIOS to factory default (which should remove any BIOS passwords) If however it is a HDD password, it is a bit different.. you may need to restore your sytem (low level, high level formats, then reload your OS sorry but you likely lose all your data..What OS do you use? there are programs that can possibly give you a boot cd depending on whether your system is fat32 or NT.. NT is more complicated because fat32 will not read NT BUT NT will read fat32.. IF you have the ability to restore your OS then first try to do a complete restore with backup.. that way you may be able to save most of your datafiles.. if you have never accessesd the pc then just try a destructive system restore (will low-level, then high-level format the HDD and reinstall your software without any SW passwords..
First thing I would try is to get into the BIOS and unset any passwords there.. If you need more help you can try to contact me [email protected] with more information

SOURCE: my dell optiplex 330 fails to start. dignostic

There is an issue with a fulty RAM module. Open up the case and remove one of the RAM modules. try restarting. If that doesn't work, put the one that you took out back in, and remove the other one. If that works, then you need to buy a new module to replace the one that was bad

Press f2 to enter the BIOS while you see the Dell start up screen. Once in there you shoudl see an option to load BIOS defaults. Load defaults. This should take care of the issue. Are you sure that you replaced it with an approved CMOS batter, You cannot use a watch battery, even though they are the same size it won't work.

Invalid configuration information-please run setup program. Performing automatic IDE configuration...... how to solve this problem.. tq..

Did you install a new hard drive, CD drive or DVD drive?
When a new drive is installed it needs to be configured in the BIOS. If so you need to go into the setup (BIOS) menu and then hold down the and keys and the press the and key to re detect newly installed IDE drives.
IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) refers to the interface circuit that the motherbrd uses to communicate with your hard drive, CD drive or DVD drive.

When i start my dell optiplex 330 pc, the power light will be blinking orange and all the fans on the pc do not work but the orange led on the motherboard works.

Replace your PSU then test all leads that are attached to your hard drive sounds like a faulty lead of some sorts then
try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
good luck
