What causes kenmore 795.78402.800 refrigerator to make a sound from freezer stops when open refrigerator door?

The refrigerator just started making a continuous sound that is coming from freezer area, except that stops when you open the refrigerator door. Does not stop if you open the freezer.

SOURCE: Kenmore Coldspot w/Ice Maker Not Making Ice

hi LOP7,
In most cases you can easily solve this problem.
step one would be to make sure your freezer is getting cold enough. If you have icecream in your freezer is it frozen solid or is it soft. Most icemakers cycle around 0 degrees and if your freezer is not getting to 0 then it will not cycle and it will not make ice.
Step two would be to make sure you icemake is cycling. To do this simply lift the little shut off arm on your icemaker and wait about an hour then go back to the icemaker and drop the arm down. The icemaker should start going through a cycle. You should notice the arm slowly begin to raise and the ice dispencer fingers will begin to turn. Then you will hear it call for water. You may hear a humm.
If the freezer is cold enough and the icemaker is cycling that only leaves the inlet valve. replace the valve and enjoy the ice.
If the freezer is cold enought and the icemaker does not cycle, then you have a bad icemaker. Simply replace the icemaker and viola.
Third if the freezer is not cold enought 0 defrees. Then you may have a defrost problem. In this case post more info and I will be happy to help. Good luck [email protected]

SOURCE: Refrigerator/freezer has stopped cooling

Sounds like you need a new relay for the compressor. Unplug from wall and check the compressor see if realy that is attached to pins on compressor, is burnt.

SOURCE: Our kenmore elite bottom freezer is making a loud

Turned off the fridge, emptied the Freezer, used a blow dryer for 20-30 minutes, to melt ice that had built up in vents at rear of freezer.

Cleaned the freezer and reloaded...no hum..at least for now.

Kenmore model 106.59592990 freezer side not cooling. Refrigerator side works fine

open the freezer door and empty the shelves look at the bottom of the panel in the freezer where the air holes are if it frozen or iced up. thats your problem your air flow is blocked with ice. other possibility would be a fan failure.

I have a Kenmore 70323 side by side with bottom freezer. It keeps making a loud, high pitch buzzing sound. This stops on its own but will stop every time one off e doors are opened..

Fridge FAN CONTINUALLY STAYS ON OR SHUTS OFF WHEN DOOR IS OPENED:

NORMALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS U EITHER HAVE A DOOR CONTINUALLY OPEN ISSUE OR A BAD DOOR SEAL LETTING AIR IN AND CAUSING FAN TO OVERWORK ITSELF. ANOTHER CAUSE CAN BE DIRTY COILS AND CONDENSER AND LASTLY NOT TO COMMON IS A SHORT IN THE FAN SYSTEM ITSELF. A MORE PROBABLE CAUSE COULD BE BAD THERMISTORS OR EVEN COLD CONTROL THERMOSTAT ( WHEN THE THERMISTORS OR THERMOSTAT DO NOT GET/GIVE A PROPER READING, THEY CAN CAUSE THE FAN TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE AS THEY FAIL TO RECOGNIZE OR REGULATE THE PROPER TEMPERATURE.

Our Kenmore Elite (new last summer) bottom freezer double top doors, stopped making ice. The wire that seemingly controls the ice maker is hanging down in a way that is causing difficulty opening the...

Well, that wire is likely the cause of your issue, somebody probably bent it, and now it gets caught on the door or a basket or a food item or what have you, and since it cannot move, the ice maker will not make ice.

Beeping sound coming from control panel model#10656562400

Hi!
Self-defrosting refrigerators use a circulating fan to move the air through the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This fan runs whenever the unit is cooling. The fan is located in the freezer.
Over time, the fan may become noisy--usually making a chirping or squealing sound, though it may make a loud groaning noise instead.

To find out if the fan is causing the noise, just open the freezer door and push any fan/light switches. If the noise is louder when the door is open, the evaporator fan motor is the cause which can't be lubricated or repair instead required to be replaced.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Frost inside freezer door

there is a small electric heater along the door gasket where you see the frost building up, this heater has apparently stopped working. this will also cause the door to pop open due to a poor seal. feel around where the door gasket contacts the refrigerator and it should feel a little warm. if not then a service company can replace those heaters. should not be too expensive.

Refirdg.

sounds like a defrost problem.  defrost the freezer with the door open overnight and test it again. if it works then you know that is what it is.
what causes a refrigerator to stop defrosting?
bad: defrost timer or defrost heater (in freezer) or thermo switch (in freezer)

Kenmore Trio 596.75509400

Generally speaking if the refrigerator does not cool and you have frost on the back wall of the freezer it suggests a defrost problem.
However since the refrigerator started working by itself it would point to an air circulation problem from the fan in the freezer compartment failing to operate. The frost on the back wall without the fan operating would cause frost buildup because the heat is still trying to get to the coil through the back wall. If your refrigerator freezer has a door fan light switch something holding the door partly open would cause the fan not to operate. Look for a button or toggle and manually push it in. You should hear the fan turn on and the light will go off.
