Bought a used Dell Dimension 2400 and I'm trying to erase it with all of her information because her bank stuff and all that is on here and I don't want to be responsible and so I'd like to erase this and started fresh it has a Windows XP on it and I'd like to put Windows 7 on it what do I do

go to pricegrabber.com to buy a new copy of XP. Save the stuff U want and install the new os. reload U'r saved data. If some of what U wnat to save are programs, U will have to reinstall those. The new XP os will self install from cd on boot up.

I had the same problem for a while till I figured out how to fix it.

go into:
start -> control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager
in device manager go down to the "sound, video, and game controllers"

in my system there was another set of audio and video capture drivers installed ("kworldb878 audio capture" or something)

go into those, and update driver; instead of letting it search, choose the driver from the list. (lexor is the manufacturer) and then install the lexor drivers, and that fixed it for me :)

Dear Minita,

please follow these steps.

1. Click on START button, the click on RUN
2. Enter REGEDIT and press enter
3. When REGEDIT starts, open up the following folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4. After clicking on {4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should see two settings on the right-hand side:
"Upperfilters"
"Lowerfilters"
Click on each of them, press DELETE and click YES.

Then close REGEDIT, shutdown & restart your PC
