Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW Front Load Washer doesn't always drain

Has anyone else had this problem? My washer doesn't want to drain out the excess water at the end of the rinse and spin cycle. It sometimes just stops and says do, or it will say end and when I pull the clothes out to put in the dryer, the clothes on the bottom are sopping wet. Have had repairman out for the second time today. I will start another load of laundry to see if he fixed the problem this time. He cleaned something out of the pump the first time and something like hair this time. Shouldn't there be some sort of catch for stuff like that so that it doesn't affect the pump?

Bravo Guys! 10 days before Christmas and my pockets were bare. :( Darned Maytag washer quit extracting. I tried reruning the cycle, tried to use the "spin" cycle, tried unplugging it for a few minutes and letting it reboot the circuit board all to no effect. I WAS NOT looking forward to a spendy service call days before Christmas and with a house full of seven people the washer gets some serious use.

I followed your provided link to remove the front panel and easily found and reset the switch which is designed to shut down the spin cycle if it becomes badly unbalanced and the drum "bottoms out" on the interior floor of the washer.

Issue fixed, and back to running like a champ. It is FREAKIN' criminal this is not covered in the owner's manual. It is nothing more than a built in maintenace income producing gimmick. Rotten @*%@([email protected]&*(!! Someone should hang them up by their toes!

Water seems to either not drain or run back into the machine. Sometimes, If I get there as the load ends there is no water build up. After, when we do another load, there is water standing in the bin. Other times, if we don't get there right away, there is alway water standing there. Help, this was an expensive maching and now its acting like this? I didn't think we would have problems for years to come!

I HAVE A MAYTAG NEPTUNE FRONT LOADER AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT EITHER DOESNT EXTRACT WELL OR WHAT IT DOES EXTRACT ENDS UP SITTING AT BOTTOM OF WASHER. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I WENT TO GO THROW CLOTHES IN DRYER AND THEY WERE SOAKING WET. HAD TO HAND SQUEEZE THEM AND TOOK HOURS TO DRY. THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS THE TIMER BECAUSE IT KIND OF MADE NOISES BUT PUT A DIFFERENT ONE AND STILL HAVE PROBLEM. WILL TRY THE RESET BUTTON.

Our Neptune ran into this trouble each time a spin cycle went wonky / off-balance. The repair guy (when it was under warranty) would simply take off the front of the machine (VERY EASY... see URL: http://groups.msn.com/Appliantology/washers.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=888

or: http://tinyurl.com/32ccnp

) and push the reset button on the bottom of a little a 2" cube near the floor. This button gets reset when the machine is off-balance after the drum makes it hit the floor. Just reset it & try a rinse cycle to see if this fixes the problem.

I forgot to mention there are two positions to the button that faces the floor (the one to reset). The 'out' position is the one you want. Just push it a couple of times to see the difference. The longer / further out button is the correct position. This gets hit on the floor & it pushes it in the 'up' position which is why it has to get reset so often after a large load of jeans or blankets.

You may want to open the back and check the drain hose, sometimes coins get in there somehow and block it from draining and cause all kinds of error messages, I found this takes care of most of them..Thanks.

Is it full of water or just sounds like there is water in. These machines always sound like they retain water but this is efficiency apparently. They do get bunged with over soaping but running it empty should cure this. Take the drain hose out of your upright exhaust and place it near the floor, watch out flood, but gravity will let you know if the pipes blocked. Make sure extra rinse button is off. Could end up being broken pump, you can only take it off and check it.

It will fill but once full the motor will only spin for a few seconds then stop

IT MAY BE DUE TO A RINSE PROBLEM?

WASHER WILL NOT RINSE:
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is the water valve will stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, you selected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.
TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle

Beko WMP652W washing machine will start cycle but get stuck at end of wash, doesnt go onto rinse or spin any help please?

see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

The Neptune can sometimes be reset. God knows the repairman for Maytag really needs to get back to work, yet to reset the cpu on your washer/dryer just unplug the unit for 60 seconds. I hope this helps you out.

The door wont open . I have tried to put it on for a cycle and you can here the the water for around 5 seconds then it stops and does nothing.

Check and make sure your pump or filter is not clogged, then next I would suspect you have a faulty door lock mechanism
More common issues with the door lock.
Is water hooked up to the washer?

The door will remained locked while draining water. If during installation the washer was plugged in and turned on without water hoses attached, the washer may attempt to drain for 8 minutes before the door unlocks. Let the washer run until the door unlocks. Do not turn off the washer or unplug the washer.
Does water remain in the washer after the final spin?

If water remains in the washer after the final spin, then the door will not unlock. Select Drain/Spin or Spin Only to remove any remaining water from the washer. The door should unlock at the end of the cycle. For models that have Rinse/Drain & Spin, push the Extra Rinse button to turn off the rinse to remove excess water.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light on?

If the Add A Garment light is on, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed once. Pressing the Start button will restart the washer at the same point where it left off in the cycle.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light off?

If the Add A Garment light is off, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock. You will hear the door click when it unlocks.
Trying to gain access into a locked door can be a bit frustrating. Upon researching your question I found some links that may help you unlock your washer door. I attached all links below. I hope this helps!
