How do i reset the keyboard to factory settings? It sounds really weird right now

My friend was at my house the other day and he was messing around on the settings. It sounds really weird now. I just want it to sound the way it did when I first got it. Can you guys help?

You can normally reset Yamaha keyboards by holding down the highest note while turning on. If you want to do a full factory reset see below - remember this may delete all songs etc you have saved to the keyboard memory.

It's probably your keyboard. Some keyboards are limited with it's polyponic capabilities. Some can play many notes at one time, some cut out when it reaches it's limits. Check your manual for specifications.

Hello, You may want to reset your machine, all data and pre loaded programs, for this you must turn on your M50 press the global mode button, click on the top arrow next to (basic) select option 2, load pre-preloaded demo data, you then choose all (PCG and demo songs). press OK. Your Korg will re install all factory samples, data and settings. Once completed It will then instruct you to turn off your machine. give it a minute or so to self upgrade before turning it back on, once you turn it back on you should see updating panel notifications right and left, you should be able to use all of the sounds and combi's available for M50. that's a factory reset. I have a yamaha p-155 88 key digital piano the upper octave has no sound
Try local Yamaha dealer. They may not make house calls, few people these days do.

What you might try if you are up to the challenge is flip the keyboard over- unplug it. remove the screws that hold the top and bottom shells together- do not let weight of unit rest on keys, especially when opening it up.

Look for physical damage to the keyboard action in the vicinity of the nonfunctional section. Check for broken printed circuit board. If you see any cracks, see where it ends and drill a small hole at the end of the crack to halt propagation. clean the varnish off the circuit tracks and tin the broken tracks first on either side of the break then bridge them with solder. Use a modest sized soldering iron and small diameter (rosin core only) solder. If there are any broken wire connections, resolder them. This may require part of the action to be removed from case- take pictures first before proceeding- make sure they show exactly where the connectors are and what wires are present. etc. You want to be able to refer to the pictures in the event you forget details of disassembly.

If nothing looks out of place, look for solder joints that do not appear to have flown out nicely- reflow them adding a little solder.

I have a w7 keyboard ,given to me free,but with no owners' manaul,when I plug in amp there was no sound coming out I do not why?
There should be a headphone jack... try headphones first...

If no sound from the phones with the volume control up, the unit MAY have lost settings due to depleted memory battery.

Look on the web for "factory reset" procedure for the W7.

I have an technics ( panasonic) chord organ. MOdel sx-ex5L. I can turn it on, but when I try to set it up for the different modes, it just sounds weird and wont set up. I think it must be one of the...
Find the "factory reset" procedure and execute it...

For SOME of the Technics units it is as follows:

It can be reverted to the original factory preset very easily. Simply press MEM&CTRL button, then select Initial from the LCD menu then followed by Total Organ

Also there may be a memory battery in the unit that is depleted that needs changing if you find settings are lost when power is removed.

Hi,
Since your keyboard works fine with the PC. That means the problem is with the keyboard's Speaker. Either your speaker cable or speaker itself is not working... you have to identify that whether the problem is of speaker wire or speaker.... see that whether the service manual of your gadget is available or not.. if available then purchase the same. It will help you a lot for while repairing

I have a casio keyboard that i've had for awhile. but ever since a couple weeks ago wen i would plug it in and hit a key to try to play i would hear like a weird noise. almost like a buzz or a fuzzy sound....
If it runs on a wall wart transformer, the transformer rectifier in it may have failed. Try a new one of the same rating. It is also possible that the input filter cap in the keyboard has failed resulting in un-pure DC voltage to the keyboard.

Want to connect to my Vista PC but...
Have you tried signing on to your computer as the administrator? I looked at the support pages at Casio and saw how confusing they are. Look at page: http://support.casio.com/information.php?rgn=5&cid=008&pid=114 and page: http://support.casio.com/information.php?rgn=5&cid=009&pid=115. Pay attention to the red lettering. The computer might be considered as the midi out device and the keyboard as the midi in device or the other way around, I'm not sure. Pretend its a telephone conversation with one person talking and the other person replying. I don't know if this helps but you can also try tech support at Sweetwater Sound (800)222-4700.

Do a factory reset. First try pressing the + and - buttons simultaneously.

Look in your user manual for a complete factory reset and do that.
