Your kettle has had a ground fault, and damaged the switch in the process. Do not Continue to Try and use.

Take the kettle to a gold medal dealer, and replace the switch in the cabinet.

SOURCE: Trips circuit when you turn on the Kettle heat

When the fuse blows see what else in the house is out, maybe you have the circuit overloaded. Try putting the popcorn maker on a different unused curcuit to see if it still blows. Then you will know if it is the popcorn maker.

I hate to put this as a solution because it really isn't. I have an old popper needing a new kettle and was told it was almost as much to purchase a new kettle than the whole machine. The kettle is almost the entire cost of the unit. I will be purchasing a new unit.

SOURCE: The popcorn popper heats the oil and the warmer

hello,

the citation popcorn can be repaired the problem is from wiring disconnection

what you need to do to fix up the problem i to unscrew (open)the popcorn maker from the top with the bass tools then trace down the wire to the propeller (tuning device) to see if the disconnected wire then try to fix it back to it position but if there is no sign of disconnection then smell the wires if there is an born wire then the wire will need to be replace note this if any of these are not fine then you will have to replace the propeller i mean the turning device but

if you can not do this your self then you will have to take it to a technical shop around. you can get the turning device from an technical store / shop you

please take note of this, you must make sure that all source of power supply is put OFF from the machine.

than you.

SOURCE: Our popcorn machine is blowing the circuit when

Mine is doing the same thing. Did you get yours fixed yet? If so, what was the problem? Its got to be the wiring. If you take off the bottom square wiring cover access, you will see the two main wires and a grounder all connected. Sometimes the connectors melt with the heat. Maybe that is what is causing the short.

Why is my gold medal popcorn model # 2552 machine not heating to pop popcorn anymore?

A kettle not heating is either a switch, kettle wires, thermostat, or kettle heater.

Check that the kettle is plugged in tight, notice if the switch lights up when switched, then contact your local gold medal dealer for repairs. It is always cheaper to repair a gold medal kettle than replace.

Heating element not working in old time Movietime popcorn maker

There are no replacement parts for Nostalgia Electrics equipment.

Double check that the kettle is plugged in, that the switch has power. If inclined open kettle and inspect wire connections and continuity, beyond that the popper is not fixable.

Wiring diagram kettle

The wiring good the kettle is pretty simple. Black goes to x on the plug white is y and ground is the green terminal. In the kettle the black goes to one of the two terminals on the thermostat. Then a jumper wire from the other thermostat terminal goes to one of the two terminals on the element. Then the white wire goes to the other element terminal. The ground or green attaches to the metal surface inside.

After clening the kettle it blows breakers

You got the Heat element and or thermostat wet. Open the kettle to expose the electronics and let it dry for days. try again it might dry out.

Or you will need to replace the heat element, thermostat, and probably the wires. if it hasn't dried out by now.

The kettle will not get hot! The light comes on and the #1 and #3 switch both light up, but no heat!?!?!

We disassembled the kettle and noticed that the black wire had been disconnected from the base connector which is attached to the heating element. We re-attached the wire clip to the harness and it heated up on the first try. Please note that you may need to crimp the wire connector to the base for a stronger hold. My guess is that as we were moving the unit back and forth the wire connector had seperated.

Kettle Keeps jolting out of place

Popcorn popper is approximately three weeks old and now the popcorn clogs up in the hopper (cooker pot), the gear quits turning, and we have to pry the popcorn out. It worked perfectly when we first got it and now it is nothing but a pain to use. We tried several popcorns, cooking oils and amounts of oils, but the problem continues. I noticed the small spring located on the lower shaft doesn't cover the entire shaft. Is it supposed to be longer? Your prompt reply for a solution would be greatly appreciated or we will have to return the unit to our local retailer where we purchased it.
