Dryer tub replacement...i need to replace the dryer tub. when dryer is on it makes a scrubbing noise

the belt that spins the dryers drum around has a belt tensioner located at the botton base of the body. If the roller bearing goes bad the sound you hear is caused by that. Replace the belt as well when replacing the roller or the whole tensioner if needed

I guess you have stumbled upon the resolution yourself.
The Tub ratlling could be because of three things.
1. The Belt itself , as it might have slacked after use. and needs replacement
2. The tumbler bearing, that would require you to open the tub
3. The holding bolts that connect both the inside and outside tubs of the dryer.

and do check the floor balance of the dryer.if the surface is not even the dryer can tumble and make noise.

Could be your drum rollers needing lubrication.
They will make a thumping noise when the wheels are flat, a squealing/scrubbing noise when they need lubricant.
Also could be you drum rubbing on the felt seal at the mouth of the drum, the seal might be loose or worn

Replace the drum rollers on the rear of the drum.

Your slides are worn and when you put clothes in the metal tub is now getting tracktion/ making metal to metal contact when it shouldn't and overloading the electric/belt drive. There is a kit to fix the problem but the dryer will need disassebled to put it in. At this time it would also be adviseable to replace the belt and tub bearing as well.

the tub bearing needs to be replaced it is on the back center of the drum

you need to replace felt on drum

it makes a humming noise..defective motor,,also you need to replace door switch...onthejob

My 14 yr. old Maytag dryer made the same type of noise. It was the fan. The plastic had broken loose around the shaft. As the shaft turned fast, the fan turned more slowly, hence the noise. Replaced the fan ---- perfect drying and no noise. $26.00 for new fan.
