It is in auto reboot mode when a failure occurs. You need to take note of the SC Code that appears before it reboots. That will tell you what is malfunctioning. If it boots up with that - as in immediately - unplug the machine, remove the hard drive, plug in and reboot. Does it still occur? Yes? You need a service tech to check it out. No? Replace the HDD.
This is the general error code for all Canon copiers when there is a problem with the fuser getting hot. It can be reset once but most likely you'll have to have a qualified tech to fix it. Not knowing which model of copier I can't help you any further.

H4 is nothing but an error code that appears due to power fluctation(in absence of a stabilizer).
