Why does my cub pop/backfire and die when I give it any throttle? it will start and idle fine, but as soon as you try to throttle-up it pops, backfires, and dies? Mower has kohler 12hp.
Carburetor needs adjusted. May need rebuilt or just cleaned. Could be one of the jets is plugged.

Check the wires to the seat switch. Under the seat you should find 2 wires connected to the seat. Unplug them, and use a jumper on the end that goes into the body of the mower. Try it again, and if it works, replace your seat.

I think runnng out gas. Your fuel cap vent and unhook fuel line from carb. and see if fuel run out. And check if fuel filter in the right direction.

Check to make sure idol isnt set too high, make sure the air filter is infact clean to prevent it from chocking itself, make sure choke is off :-) and also make sure you idol all the way down when you kill it. Make sure your spark plug is good to prevent flood, and detonation, peaceout.
