Frig and feezer stopped working

May be out of gas, or low on gas. Can you hear the unit running when you power it up?
May want to check on the overload unit to see if it is ok

is the compressor running if so try this.
1. is light on in side when you open the door. If not check breakers or fuses.
2. Can you hear the compressor running. If not do you hear any clicking sounds.
3. If you hear clicking sounds, try putting a fan on compressor and unplug refrigerator.
4. Wait one hour.
5. plug back in. If compressor starts let it run and see if it cools, if it doesnt, call service man.
6. If it goes back to clicking, call a service man.

If the refrigerator try's to start and then shuts down, something is going the burn up. If it doesn't run, call a repair service.

Of course check breakers, then unplug unit from wall for several hours (let unit compressor cool) then plug back in. If after plugging it in you continue to hear a "clicking" sound on rear of unit either start device on compressor is bad or compressor its self is gone.

Your PTC relay is bad and needs to be replaced. That clicking sound you are hearing is the overload failing to hold and then clicks off.

First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken

Your PTC relay is bad. Get back with me and can walk you through the replacing it.

hi try out the following settings....
Check your temperature setting.
- Check if no ice present in the evaporator, try the defrosting
- Check vents if air is present if no then check your blower if running or icing evaporator.
- Check your vents if not obstructed with stocks, or the unit is not overloaded with stocks.
- Check if compressor is running continues, if not then you need a qualified technician.

Our new 10 day old top frig/bottom freezer stopped freezing, then the top refrigerator stopped cooling, but the light was working and you could hear some motor running and an occasional "clicking" sound. One internet blogger adsvised unpluging the appliance for 1/2 hour. Another advised 2 hours. Then plug in the appliance and see if it started cooling/freezing again. Our experience = nothing. We called the repair folk and the new frig/freezer had a failed compressor and a broken timer!! We were not thrilled. Suprisingly the store we bought the ap[pliance from gave us a $50 gift card to compensate for the lost food. They didn't have to do that - so ask for it; can't hurt.

it might have low volatge to compressor and burned out overload try unplugging it again wait a few hours and plug it back in it might start working good luck if it doesnt try replacing relay overload compasator they sell a kit called a 3 n 1 start kit
