Follow the cable to make sure it isn't stuck. If the cable moves freely, check that the flywheel brake and any attached springs are connected properly. These are usually under the pull start cover.

My Husqvarna RZ4623 lawnmower left wheel stopped moving forward and back. Right side moves fine... help.

Check the leftside manual transport bypass lever has not somehow engaged. Compare it to the right side.

The two transaxles are driven by the same belt so extremely unlikely it's a belt problem.

Look for any signs of fluid leaking from the left transaxle shaft seal. If the seal has been leaking then it may be low on fluid. The transaxles are considered maintenance free so there are no instructions from Husqvarna for adding fluid but it can be done. However, if the shaft seal is leaking it will need replaced.

See operators manual regarding bypass levers (rods).

My mtd(11A-54MC552) lawnmower won't start. changed: spark plug, fresh gas, clean air filter,

The Flywheel has a brake and switch assembly on that is item 8 of this link: http://www.ereplacementparts.com/mtd-11a54mc006-2009-push-walkbehind-mower-parts-c-20039_20100_133234_21459.html#part_343018

The switch is made or unmade by the position of the user safety bar on the handle. When the cable between the handle and the flywheel safety brake wears or needs adjustment the safety switch continually grounds the ignition so there is no spark. You may have to adjust the user safety bar cable at the engine flywheel brake switch area by losending the mount screw and moving the cable jacket further away from the switch. Then re-tighten the mounting screw.

If this is the first start of the season you may have to remove the carb float bowl as shown on the bottom of item 14 the above link to clean out the jet orifice in the threaded area of the carb. Make sure you remove all debris in the carb float bowl area. You should also have fuel flow anytime the float is positioned below horizontal.

If none of the above corrects the problem respond here and I will help you.

Husqvarna chainsaw 235e starts but the chain won't move. Maybe the brake is stuck??

Does the brake seem to 'snap-over' like it should? Pull it back to release position, and remove the drive cover. Check the entire brake for debris accumulation or bent/damaged brake band. Check the chain to see if it is being oiled. Remove the bar/chain and clean the entire assembly, particularly the small oil passages in the drive end of the bar. Start the engine and watch for oil oozing out of the small side port where the bar fits. If ok, reassemble the bar/chain. If no oil comes out, investigate the oil pump, lines, and filter/valve in the oil tank. Mount the side cover, but leave the fasteners finger tight. (The chain teeth cut toward you on the bottom run) Tighten the chain until the lower run comes up to the bar, but can still be turned by hand. Tighten the fasteners and recheck the tension. Trip the chain brake and make sure it locks the chain, then release it and make sure it turns freely. Check the chain oiling by running the bar tip at speed near some cardboard--it should leave a thin line of oil on the board. Hope this helps!

The mower starts, the blades will engage, but when you release the brake/clutch (about 1 inch of the 6 inches of travel), the mower dies. The reverse switch position on the key does not have any effect. ...

Here is a dumb question for you, are you sitting on the machine when you release the petal?

Most new machines have a 'operator presence' safety system on them. To run the machine, the operator must be in the operators regular position. I would guess you know this.

Can you release the brake and continue to run with the mower off???

Maybe your machine requires you to engage the drive and then the mower???

So, if the engine dies when you engage the drive system, the tractor thinks there is no one in the seat. Look for a switch malfunction under your seat.

Please let me what happens. Id like to solve this for you.

I have a husqvarna 172 ride-on lawnmower. Running

This unit probably has a safety switch built into it and it could be below the gas tank. If this switch isn't adjusted properly then it's designed to cut off the motor. I think you should concentrate on that before attempting anything else.

Have e series 142 saw, how do you engage the chain after starting and saw is running

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but every chainsaw I've ever used has a safety bar or shield that must be pulled back (toward the operator) to engage the chain drive. It is a handy feature when you have to climb up to cut something: you can leave the engine running with the safety engaged, then pull it back when you're ready to cut.
