Poor quality photos on kodak printer

SOURCE: Prints faded

I went to the AIO software, clicked on the ?: in the upper right hand corner, under General LInks I sselected Maintenance then chose Clean Printhead and did that twice. Thank YOU for the help,

SOURCE: Photos are too red printing on Kodak Easyshare 5300

After contacting Kodak and running through their trouble shooting site, they advised that the printer needs a new printhead which they supply free of charge.

First thing to do is to try updating the firmware of the printer, just make sure that your printer is idle and has no error before proceeding, you can get the update at www.kodak.com/go/dowloads if you still have the same issue after that try deep cleaning the printhead 2x

Poor print outs of black ink - color is fine - I change the cart. and it stills gves me poor quality prints- I've tried the cleaning process from the menu - now what?

Kodak EasyShare 5000 series

Clean the print head then print a demo sheet.

  1. Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
  2. On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
  3. From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Print head Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
  4. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo and Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet.

If the Demo print is bad- IE: no black, blurry print etc., then you may need to replace the print head:

My 5500 print quality is poor for photo's, document printing is fair Worked good for about 9 months, has fresh ink
Kodak machines, which I'm told are built by Lexmark, have very poorly made print heads. If you are experiencing print quality issues you need to contact Kodak and make them replace your print heads. We have one customer who has had to replace them twice since he has owned the machine, which hasn't been very long.

Printer paper is jammed. Is there a release?
is there a... what? you didnt provide additional information, and you left the question unfinished. is there a way to remove the paper? is there a solution? yes. the paper can be removed. but i dont have enough information.

Product summary The good: Improved photo quality over previous model; attractive design; large 3-inch LCD screen; easy-to-use Home Center software.
The bad: Poor quality build with several mechanical errors; average print speed; graphics quality still lacks definition.
The bottom line: The Kodak ESP5 is an attractive full color all-in-one printer, scanner, and copier, and casual photo enthusiasts will be happy with the watered-down editing software, but hard-core users should look elsewhere for a multifunction printer. The ESP5 is too expensive and suffers from too many mechanical deficiencies for us to give it our CNET stamp of approval.

Photos are printing with poor tone and color. cartridges are new. how do i adjust?
Take the cartridges out and see if the ink is coming out evenly on the tape. It can also be the quality of photo paper you are purchasing. I found Kodak brand works best.

The Kodak camera dock provides automatic battery charging and automatic connection to your computer when the camera is "docked." There is also a version of the dock that includes a printer, but I have found the printer to be poor quality and very unreliable. The dock must be connected to the computer via USB, and the Kodak EasyShare software must still be installed. The dock is a very handy accessory, but it will not solve your problem. What might help though is a visit to Kodak.com where you can get a free download of the latest EasyShare software that is correct for your operating system.
