Simplink is used only with two or more LG deveces connected together via Hdmi
To use it you should first of all turnit on
you go to option and select simplink on or you just press from your remocon the simplink button and then select on
After this when you press the simplink butto to your remocon
a new menu with your connected devices pop upwith new selections to use

SOURCE: the tv sensor is not working on my 42" lg lcd hdtv

Believe it or not...THIS WORKS!!!!

Look on the back of your set for an external remote jack. It should be the same size as a small headphone jack. If it has one, use a spare headphone plug or your headphones, and plug them in and out about 50 times. This will clean the tarnished contacts and make your remote sensor start working. Your remote sensor goes through a switch on this jack.
