SOURCE: Nikon D50 LCD Display does not work

NatD, The D50 and indeed most SLR digital cameras [ I have a D40 ] does not allow you to take pictures using the LCD display ... this is by design, you are meant to use the viewfinder and the image you see through it is straight through the lens via a mirror block [ called a reflex pentamirror or prism ]. When the mirror is down such that you can see the image in the viewfinder it is obscuring the sensor [ the bit that takes the picture ] and when you take a shot the mirror lifts and the picture is recorded. Its this reason that DSLR's dont use the LCD to shoot, however there are a few now available that do let you do this, such as olympus, new panasonic one and higher end Nikon and Canon cameras. Hope this explains it without getting too detailed!

SOURCE: Nikon D50 Flashes Err and clicks

hi..
This screen shows areas of the photo that are overexposed slightly.
It flashes them to help you.
You get to this screen by pressing the up or down arrows when displaying the pictures you have taken.

To change it just press the up arrow when the camera is showing the screen until you get a display without flashing.

Once you have done this the display will be steady.
If you get any other screen in future you may have accidently pressed the arrow again.
Just cycle thru the displays to get back to steady.

thank u

My D50 Nikon camera reads CHR I bought a new SD Card it is 4G can that to big

The D50 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it will only work with devices specifically designed to accept SDHC cards. The D50 wasn't. It only works with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Nikon d50 wont take pictures and displays r10 warning

R10 is not a error code, it tells you how many pictures (on average) the camera can shoot before it has to stop and clear its internal memory by writing to the SD card.

Is there a card in the camera? It will not fire without one. Also, if you have taken 20 or 30 thousand exposures, then the electronic switch (not the button on the top) that fires the camera may be worn out.

How to set the monochrome parameter in nikon d50 dslr camera?

Hi there,
There is no monochrome parameter in the D50 as oppose to the D200. You will have to convert using software.
Hope this helps.

Nikon D50 -flash won't fire

Try pushing the flash forward just a tiny bit. this model of Nikon has a built in problem with the flash popping up too hard. You can also try to "soften" the pop-up action with your finger instead of just letting it snap up into position.

Memory not working in my D50.

The D50 will only accept up to a 2gb SD card. Cards of 4gb and larger are a newer type of SD card, known as SDHC (secure digital high capacity). At the time the D50 was made, SDHC cards weren't on the market. In short, if it is larger than 2gb it won't work. There's also no upgrade that I've found to handle SDHC cards in the D50, either. I love my D50, except for the card limitation.
