This is likely the same issue occurring when the disk tray will not open either. Suspect your drive belt is worn and requires servicing. This is best done by an xbox servicing agent. Not too expensive. I have been suffering with a tray that will not open for over 2 years now, however, I am able to fix it simply by ensuring a disk is always left in the tray. It only fails to open if there is no disk in the tray. Even then, I can open it by lifting slightly with a paperclip.

SOURCE: Disk tray ejecting

Have you got the xbox stood up as in the picture. If so, position it lying flat (so the cd drawer is horizontal) and then try it. If this works, I think it is just general wear and tear on the mechanism.

SOURCE: It takes 3 or more tries to load a game on our

First check to see if the tray has closed compleatley
by waching the green blinking light on the power button . If the light continues to blink evan after the
tray has shut, that means the close switch has not
engaged . Eject the tray and then as it's closing give
it a firm push just as it closes to force it to engage
the close switch.

If that's not the problem then it's more then likley
you have a weak laser. They cost 20.00-30.00 new,
and there not that hard to replace .Or you can have
a shop swap it out for around 70.00-80.00

If you need more info, just ask.

SOURCE: disk tray is not spinning

The way to fix this is to open the disk tray and blow inside for about thirty seconds getting the dust out of the way of the laser also blow across the disc tray and the surface of the disk. Then keep closing and opening the tray and it will start to read hopefully. if this does not work go out and buy a disc cleaner. it looks like a disc with sponges on it and when you insert it into the console it cleans the inside for you. SOURCE: my xbox360 keep saying open tray and it is not

the xbox 360 disk reader is low on power so try to go get it fix by the store you bought it from or try to do it on your own hands like going on to you tube if you dare risking the chance of warrenty

Disk will not eject

In some cases the disk tray will stick in the closed position. Keep trying to get it open with the actuator (open button) but if it fails, look for a small hole on the front panel and insert a small paper clip end into the hole, push, and the tray will open. By hand, sip the tray in and out several times to help free up the tray and remove dust or debris that collected over time.

Cannot open the disc tray

If you hear the motor trying to work then try to push the disk out by try holding the eject button for couple of seconds or press it and hold it couple of times real quick. If that works you need to leave disk in it in order to get the disc tray to keep ejecting I a have cdrom that works like this. If not take it apart and take out the cd you need and replace the disc tray with motor that works.

I went to put a game in the xbox to play,I waited for it to load & nothing happened. The screen said open tray.I waited & waited but nothing.I pressed the green button on the controller but the tray...

Well you may be having disk tray issues, sure hope so as compared to a burnt out lens module, try ejecting the tray fully and wiping all dust off around the grooves under the tray, one more tip is to keep a disk in the drive at all times, even when you aint playing it, you can also try giving it a gentle tap on the front pat where the disk tray is located any time you eject it or push the tray back in, come to think about it if you are fond of pushing the tray in after inserting a disc, stop cos it weakens the motor that drives the ejecting process, hope this helps...

I put in a disc. it says reading then goes back to open tray. Help me.

Hello,

The most common reason for the Console saying reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your Console including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your Console going again!

Hope it works...

When I turn on the power to the PS2, the disk tray immediately opens. I put in a disk and close it, after 2 seconds it opens again as if I hit the eject button. The tray won't stay shut.

i would check if your eject button is stuck if it is try to pull it out a little with small plyers or its the eject sensor or finally it might also have something in the way of the tray if you dropped it on accident or something it will keep opening if something is in the way. hope this helps.

Disk won't eject on my iMac

Ok, I assume you have hit the eject button on the keyboard. Try dragging the CD icon on the desktop to the trash can. If that doesn't work, Shut down the computer and start up while holding down the mouse button. This may take some time, but keep your finger on the mouse button right up until the disc comes out or the log-in screen has appeared. Some Macintoshes have a paperclip hole that you can insert a straightened paperclip into, manually triggering the eject mechanism. Another option is to open Disk Utility and choose the disc you wish to eject in the left-hand pane, then click on the Eject button. Sometimes you can successfully use the eject disc button in iTunes even if the disc is not visible to the Finder. Another option is to Open Terminal and type "drutil tray eject" to eject the disc/tray, and "drutil tray close" to close the tray. Lastly if your computer has an eject button on the keyboard, restart the computer holding down the Option key. When the startup disk selection screen appears, let go of the option key and press the keyboard's eject button. One of these should work.

Old xbox360 disc tray wont close at all

open it up ( very carefully) and check to see if the disk tray end is still attached or alligned to the plastic gears that eject the tray. if so check the rubber band to make sure it has not broke or streched.

Won't start up....emergency eject????

Hi there,

As soon as you turn on your G5, hold down the mouse button. Keep holding it down until the disc ejects. Make sure you hold down the mouse button (right side or middle) as soon as you turn the computer on.

DVD Eject tray stuck

I took a stake knife from the kitchen and pried open the tray door as I hit the eject button this got it to open, I then cycled eject and close, eject close a few times and this did the trick, I even played a DVD and that worked fine also. I had the problem with the tray not opening, and the display would read OPEN when I hit eject and I could hear it trying to open. So I wanted to make sure the tray wasn't just stuck or wedged before I took the system apart and looked for sripped out plastic gears or the belt being broken. GoodLuck [email protected]
