My audio is perfect. The video is playing but the screen is very dark?

if the screen is a dull deep blue and you hear audio perfectly its probably the Main board. If the screen is dark but you hear audio perfectly it would be the inverter. Well because they can loose their power over time periods i remember when i was playing perfect dark almsot to the end of the level it stalled and then 1 second later the screen went black and then 2 seconds after that it went back to the tv screen dsying no signal it looks like its dead but its not.

First, make sure you have it on CARD (and not DISK), and on the "playback" (and not record) mode. Next, does the camera play back other video clips normally, but just not a specific clip ?
Does the selected video clip frame (index) shown on the LCD screen have a picture ? If not, i.e. it is blank (dark), then it is likely that no video was recorded (i.e. just the audio) when you were shooting that video clip.
If there is a picture (of the video clip frame index on the LCD screen) and only audio is playing, try downloading the clip (from the SD card) to your computer, or simply try to play the video on the SD card (inserted directly into your SD card reader on your computer, or via a USB SD card reader) and see if the video clip will play normally on your computer.

NO NEED TO CLEAN LENS, YOU HAVE A MOTOR PROBLEM, IN THIS CASE YOU WILL BE ONLY ABLE TO PLAY AUDIO DISK AND NOT DVD. BECAUSE OF FREQUENTLY USED, DVD DISK MORE SPEED ROTATION THEN NORMAL CD, SO CHANGE YOUR MOTOR AND CHECK IT WILL WORK......

its defective, need to be repaired or replaced

Try another scart cable if this dose not work take it back "no return"deal or not.The player was sold to you as a dvd player not a paper weight.

The picture is very dark it is mostly due to 1 power supply output is low. 2 voltage on crt g2 pin is low. 3 video output supply is low. 4 some components in luminance section might be defective or loose. 5 finally crt getting weak is set is old. good luck
