Hot and warm water surges while filling

Model number 110.28622701. When it is filling warm or hot water it suddenly started to do this in spurts, not an even flow. It doesn't seem to do it with the cold.

SOURCE: Have model 88675 with slow hot water fill

I once had this problem. The solution was to remove the hot water hose connection to the washer and look at the filter/screen inserted into the end of the hose connection on the washer machine. This screen protects the washer components from foreign particles entering. You may find a badly-clogged screen, so clean it. I have seen a cold water screen clean, while the hot water screen was clogged...something to do with hot water and minerals or iron in water.

SOURCE: kenmore 80 series top loader the washer will not fill with cold water only hot water

Yes patrick you can try removing the cold hose from the washer, look inside the valve for a metal screen. If it has sediment blocking it remove screen, clean it and reinstall. If still no water replace inlet valve.

SOURCE: Hot water is filling up washer very slow

There is a screen in the valve where the hose hooks on. It could be getting plugged up. turn off the water and pull off the hose to see if it's full of particles. I can sometimes clean it out by putting a bucket under the water inlet and spaying a little water from the hose into the opening. If not you may need a new valve.

SOURCE: Washer is using hot water on the cold/cold was

Unless your hoses are reversed the machine control is bad and needs to be replaced. Please contact me if you need further help or leave feedback if appropriate as that is how I get paid. Thanks for letting me help you!

SOURCE: cold water filling

There are filter screens where the supply hoses connect to the washer. On some brands there is a screen where the hose connects to the water valve at the wall. The screen is probably full of sediment.

Whirlpool model WTW5310VQO

i've found problems with the temp. switch on this washer part number W10184148 and it's around 40 dollars, also on the rinse cycle the washer only uses cold water.what happens when you use just the hot?i had a lady that her water would start to fill and then the water would stop and the pipes in the house would start making a banging sound.if you order the part from http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Switch/W10184148/1468990 repair clinic and if this isn't your problem which i think it is from how you discribe it you can send the part back and get your money back for up to a year.good luck with your washer and next time you buy something and it doesn't work right get right on it

When washer fills on warm water mode, it alternates between cold and hot water coming out in spurts. Is this normal, as it doesnt do it on rinse cycle.

yes its normal the reason it does not do it on rinse is that only cold water is used to rinse not /hot warm

please rank this advice if it helped

thank you

Washer temp setting changes by itself

I also have a Whirlpool washer/dryer for my condo, although I don't know the model number of mine. I had the same problem -- after it was precisely a year old, suddenly one day the hot and cold started coming out reversed. I was able to fix mine by more or less temporarily fiddling with the water pressure. What I did was one time, when the rinse cycle was running and the washer was filling up with hot water (grrrr...), I completely shut off the valve supplying hot water. So at that point the water stopped filling into the washer, and then I started tinkering with the cold water, twisting the valve off and on a few times. Then BINGO, suddenly the cold water "kicked in" and for the remainder of the rinse cycle, it filled the washer with cold water. I then turned the hot water valve back on, and since then it has been running correctly.

Maytag washer causes water pipes to rattle when filling

Could be something called water hammer which is a pipe issue. You can install/have installed a water hammer arrestor which is a small pipe extension that stops that.

When filling my F&Paykel washer the water is not a constant flow, it is filling in 'spurts', ie stop/start/stop/start etc...... I have tried cold, hot & warm water, all combinations of temp are...

You most likely have a smart water temp sensor on your machine. It makes sure you have the proper water temp to dissolve your detergent. Even when set to cold, it will add some hot water. It sounds like your machine is working properly. If you feel you are haveing a problem check the water temperatures in your owners manual and then check them with a thermomater in the washer. If they are not correct you may have a bad temperature sensor. Good Luck and I hope this helped. [email protected]
