Ac not blowing cold after outside temp reaches 98 degrees

Depending on the age of unit either filter blocked needs cleaning or freon low is fan blowing do you have outside of unit clear of obstacles these are all things to check also remember if it's 100 outside AC will only drop air temp 20 or so degrees

in high temps AC units undergo whats called thermal inversion. This is when it blows hot inside and cold outside. I do not believe there is a fix for this. Maybe it is not properly sized for you room? If your unit is too small, it may be working too hard and inverting.

Automotive electrical system testing ? How to read a wiring diagram ? When hot outside is the inlet pipe to evaporator freezing up ? Do you know where this is , under the hood in the engine compartment at the fire wall . What are gauge readings , Is the compressor engaging ? Were any switches replaced ? Ambient temp. , thermal transmitter switch . pressure etc...

About the only thing that it could be is a dirty coil,or some one over charge the system, I have seen just a layer of dust cause the compressor to cycle off to its thermal over load. Clean the coil.

Heat pumps are the same as an A/C unit only it works in reverse. Instead of blowing cold air inside and hot air outside it blows hot air inside and cold air outside. The heat being blown inside is extracted form the cold air outside. Its called Latent heat Latin for hidden. Believe it or not even though its 20 degrees outside there is still heat in the air. Example if you want to drop the temperature of a freezer from 20 to 10 degrees you have to remove heat .I know your getting unusal weather and that is the problem. Heat pumps can only work no lower then around 20 degrees outside.Heat pumps are never used above the freeze line. With your unusal temperatures thats basically where you are now. Ride it out. When your temps rise a little your be fine. Im in Chicago.

if it is set to 76 degrees and its 78 in the house its working fine it is suppose to shut off once it reaches 76 but sometimes there is a 1 or 2 degree differential built ini would keep you filter clean and as long as it blows out cold air i wouldnt be to concerned most airconditioners need yearly cleanings though

Isolate the thermostat sensor. Hold it with your hand and see if it comes on and stays on. If so, replace the thermostat.

PROB NEEDS 2 JUST BE RECHARGED. BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE DEALER. IT IS ALWAYS 3 TIMES MORE THAN A PRIVATE SHOP

It has a leak. Fill up the radiator and the coolant tank. Then restart it and check for leaks.
