We hear sound but no picture. Is this an easy fix?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

It is in the deflection circuit----rather poorly made set and parts are not easy to find---if mine: I would retire it and replace it---

This is usually due to a fault with the backlight controller. It could be due to bad capacitors, which is easy to fix, or the inverter transformers may require replacement, which is not as easy to fix. The backlight controller board can be replaced if necessary.

Probably filter capacitor in power supply if it
exploded should be easy to find may have caused other problems however
could be worth checking

the tube is probably burnt out in it, I would take it to a tv repair shop for an estimate. maybe and easy fix. good luck

the light source is out. the new lamp will cost around 250 easy fix.

Sounds like you have the White Pattern turned on. Find your documentation for your TV and look it up. Should be an easy fix.

we have a sony rear projection tv and the picture went but sound is still there. Can you give me an idea what it might be.

Make sure the plugin for the speakers is in place. Easy to skip one plugin when removing boards for service.
