Adding data file to existing CD-RW disc in Roxio

I have copied and saved my data on a CD-RW with Roxio. Now I want to add some more data to that same CD-RW. I get as far as copying the data but I do not know how to save it to the existing CD-RW. Can you help?

I have information downloaded onto the cd-rw. Can I add more information to the disk? When copying the new data to the disk will the previous information print again or just the new data will be added to the rest? I am currently using the CDburnerXP

First off, for your information your Roxio is OLD, they now have Roxio 9.
But that will not solve your problem. Can you open the CD and copy and paste anything? Or is the CD "Read Only"? If read only, it is because when you "Finalized" the CD you optioned the "Write Protect" making writing to the disk impossible. This protects the disk from erasure too.
You will need to use another disk.
Otherwise you can just use the same method you used before to write to the disk, or Copy and Paste, or Drag and Drop.
The Write Protect is specific to the program you are running.
However, Roxio 7 and 9 program I have used ask, "Do you want to be able to write to this disk again?" or words to that effect. All you need to do is just put a check in the box (or not, if you want to write to disk again). This happens when you are ready to remove the CD or DVD from the drive. Then the program runs a "Finalizing" program before the disk automatically ejects.

Wont write to disc

Do not use the Windows built in utility to write disks. Install some cd/dvd burning software like Roxio, Nero etc.

Can't write on my cd-rw rewritable using dvd+-/rw and cd-rw

When you write to a CDRW chances are you are using a packet writing program such as "Drop to disc" by Roxio or INcd by Nero. I found out that Vista does not support such programs. If you are using Vista as your operating system you will not be able to save data this way. When I had to buy a new computer recently, I found out that I should use memory cards instead of CDRWs.

I have pictures on a cd-rw, I want to add more,

hi there,
It looks like you haven't enabled multi-session when you wrote that disc, Even if you enable it you can't delete the files written to the disc, but you can add more files to the disc.

Data written to the disc cannot be deleted but can be erased, which would erases all the contents of the disc. Here is the work around.

1. Copy the contents of the disc to a local drive
2. Erase the disc
3. Write the required contents back to the disc and enable multi session.

How to copy anything else on finalised DVD or - to HDD on samsung HR 755

If the disk is finalized you can't normally write anything else.

The words "Finalizing" and "Closing" are used interchangeably by most recording applications. To "Finalize" or "Close" a disc means that no additional data can be written to it. This is done when the last session's lead-in is written. The option to close a disc is usually selected after all of the data that will be written has been placed in the project window, and the user knows that no more data will be added to the disc in subsequent recording sessions. The next writable address on the disc is not recorded in that lead-in, so the CD recorder, in subsequent attempts to write, has no way of knowing where to begin writing.

Using roxio creator basic v9 when i burn disc its writing to the disc (700MB) without giving free space,i just made a copy of original cd which has 162MB,after writing to new disc, showing 700MB used..

Burned CDs always show as being fully used. That is so users don't think they can just copy files onto it. The way to find out how much free space is to subtract the amt. of space used from the capacity of the CD. Also most CDs are burn-once so after you burn it you can't add or delete files anyway. Only CD or DVD "RW" (read-write) discs allow you to re-use them.
