Take a look at the videos. You will need a bearing and seal kit, plus some grease. You can knock the old bearing out using a large socket on an extension bar. That is also useful for gently seating the seal without damaging it.

Guess it's a bearing in the drum, though just my appreciation. If you are not a tech in washing machines, you should call a reapir service to get it dismounted and replaced

The noise you can hear is the drum bearings, the seal between the drum and bearings has failed and let water into the bearings which has destroyed the bearings.

It's impossible to give you any more specific advice as you haven't stated a make and model. On some machines the drum bearings can be replaced, on many modern machines they are sealed for life and are non-replaceable and when they fail the rest of the machine is usually pretty well worn out as well.

On those domestic front loaders which can have new bearings fitted, bearing replacement is a very labour-intensive job and is often not cost effective. On commercial machines it's usually far more straightforward. on most top loaders (excluding top loading machines with a horizontal front-loader style drum), bearing replacement is relatively straightforward.

It could be that the new bearings are being fitted onto a worn drum shaft, this would soon cause the bearings to fail again.
If it has not been replaced, then it should be done so.

If a washing machine is very noisy on spin, the main suspect is the drum bearings. Drum bearing failure is common on many washing machines due to water getting into them if the drum bearing seal fails. (Hotpoint and Zanussi in particular in my experience) To check for drum bearing failure you can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand. If the drum rumbles when spun then the bearings may have gone. There should be a constant rumble all the time the drum is revolving.

Another drum bearing failure symptom is excessive up and down play in the drum which can be checked for by lifting the drum up and down from the drum lip behind the door seal. A further symptom of drum bearing failure can be a brown rust patch underneath the washing machine and down the back of the outer drum, underneath the drum pulley (where the belt goes) although this patch is not always present. There are usually two small holes at the back of the drum bearings where water that has got past the drum bearing seal trickles out, and it's usually stained with grease and rust if water has got into the bearings.
