Maytag Microwave MMV5207AAQ

its common to all ovens! causes are food spills and oil spills left uncleaned! painting only might fix the problem for a while, but it won't give you a lasting service!!

! you should buy a new rack for much safer use!

keep in mind also to clean the oven after every use! (let it cool first of course!)

Is there a generic replacement rack for microwave/convection oven jvm1490bd003 ? i can not believe GE wants 60-70$ for a simple rack!! robbery :(

Every oven has a different size and shape rack, which is why they have to charge so much. You could try Ebay, they go for around $25 there.

Kitchenaid oven racks fall

I am a bit late on this question, but just ended up in a rabbit hole of unanswered Kitchenaid questions

The self cleaning features only serves to keep manufacturers in steady sales of parts. Quite simply the oven can only take those temperatures a few times until they break. The heat burns out elements, damages fans, door locks and worst of all damages control boards which are not far enough from the heat source. You problem sounds like the walls of the oven have buckled in the heat so the racks no longer fit. Too late now, but you should have taken Kitchenaid to court, the oven was not fit for purpose under the description they used to sell it to you.

Never use the self cleaning feature as stated here

https://www.google.com/search?q=self-cleaning+oven+temperature

Never Ever use the self clean feature. We see damage here every couple of weeks. The worst was a burned control board on an oven that all parts were obsolete, so the self clean cost a thousand bucks!

Self-cleaning ovens bring the heat so you don't have to spend hours scrubbing. Traditional self-cleaning cycles heat the oven between 800°F and 900°F, helping turn soil and spills to a powdery ash you can then wipe away. They utilize only heat-no chemicals-and are built to withstand high temperatures. (Says Maytag who love selling elements, door locks and other parts),

How to replace oven igniter

You don't say what brand and model you have, but the process is pretty much the same for all ovens. You need to remove the oven racks, then remove the oven bottom. There's a flame spreader that comes off, and you'll find the igniter is mounted on a bracket underneath. Disconnect the old igniter, pop in the new one and reconnect it, reassemble the oven and you're done. A few details such as where screws are located, the kind of igniter and its connections and such depend on the oven. This site as well as many others has helpful information, as well as selling replacement parts. It's not complicated, and easy to do yourself. Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

How to remove the rack holder from a GE JMV1340WW002 microwave.

Hi best way is to remove the outer case and cut the back of the clip off, alternativly you can just lift the old clip from inside the oven cooking cavity with a flat knife or spreader untill the plastic clip on the rearside breaks off, it'l just fall down and sit in a void in the bottom of the oven and wont cause any damage. The new clip is just installed using an upward motion whilst pushing inward untill it clicks into place.
Hope this helps

New Handle for Maxim 3 oven

Hi All -- I just spoke to a very helpful Maxim/Salton customer representative (1-800-231-9786 is the US #), and the glass door for the Maxim OV-300 is considered a "non-stock" part. This means that it's not in stock, but it is (hopefully ;) possible for the company to order it from their manufacturer in China, though it could "take months." I was able to place an order for the door for $20.90 USD including shipping to Los Angeles. Hopefully if others place orders, they'll really re-make some of these parts! Good luck, Penny
