delete all of the hp software, reboot windows, remove anything in "add remove programs" that looks like it belongs to HP, reboot again, then plug in printer wait for it to detect it, then reinstall software.

Yes it is possible as long as you have the driver Cd for the model of the HP printer .

Insert the Cd in to your laptop DVD/CD Drive, allow it to boot, read the instructions shown on your screen carefully and click install. The installation will reach a stage and then you will be instructed to fix the printer into your computer, after that, the installation will be concluded and then you can get started.

After the whole intallation process must have been concluded, insert some plain paper sheets into the printer tray to test the printer.

Connecting the printer to your laptop will be much easier because, once you insert the printer Cd (Drivers) into your laptop, a diagram will be drawn on your computer screen to help you carry out the task easily.

I believe a trial will convince you.

Can you please verify that the drivers that is installed for HP 810C is proper as per the operating system.

EX: if you have Win XP then you need to install the HP 810C driver for Win XP. If you have Vista's driver for that printer then it would not work.

So install the proper driver as per the operating system and everything should work fine.
