I have a Roper dryer MOD: REX6634RQ1 SER: MT0610198 & my husband replaced the heating element (part #: 3403585) but now when I set the dryer in auto mode it moves too quickly & clothes are still wet. (Timed heat works fine for now) He didn't "label" the wires & just put them back on as "he remembered". Whirlpool told me I needed a dryer service person, but I don't have the money. Could my timer be faulty or did my husband put the wires back on wrong? I have searched, but I haven't been able to find anything about this type of dryer. Can anyone help? TIA!

Check to make sure that you have the proper voltage running to the dryer first. Next you may have a problem with your heating element or with your thermal fuse. Get your dryer opened up so you can see your heating element. Run the dryer and if you see the heating element come on and then turn right back off again then you have a bad thermal fuse. If it doesn't come on at all though then the heating element is bad. Both parts can be picked up at your local appliance repair shop. Just make sure to unplug the dryer before replacing the part. If you have any other questions let me know and let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck.

Timers cannot be repaired. The mechanism is a spring - once it weakens, or fails - a new timer is required.

A used part would have to come from an appliance store that salvaged from an abandoned washer.... and it may fail shortly anyway.
The new timer will have a warranty, and give you 10 more years of service.
Well worth it.

SOURCE: My roper dryer REX6634pq0 does not heat!!
there is a thermal overload switch that activates the heating element. This switch will be located in the area of the element itself. It is designed to shut off the element in the event the element itself reaches a temp beyond it's designed temp. It is a safety device. If the switch is out it will not allow the heating element to activate. This switch looks like a silver button and has several wires going to it is about the size of a dime. Replace this switch and you should be good to go

The thermal cut-off , which is the small t-stat looking piece located at the top of the element housing ( on vertical mount elements ) or the far front of the element housing ( on horizontal mount elements ) , is usually the cause for no heat .
