SOURCE: resume button

What is the exact error message that comes up, and how do you fix it before pressing the "Resume" button? My normal errors with this printer is either no ink, no paper, or paper jam--once the error is corrected, I press the "Resume" button (on the right of the 2 buttons) once only.

I am not too familiar with the flashing error code, I will need to get back to when I find an answer to that. If it is a new print head,

As for a new printer, it depends on many factors:
(1) What you use the printer for?
(2) Do you need color printouts? If not a monochrome laser usually has the lowest cost per page, albeit a greater initial cost of the printer.
(3) Do you use genuine Canon ink cartridges, a generic brand, or refill? I have used generic ink on my i560 for a number of years with no problem

SOURCE: Left hand light flashing orange and printer wont

Check the following:
Make sure you have removed the seal on each cartridge.

Turn of Printer, open all shutters, front and back and close them firmly, firmly.

Make sure there is no paper jam.

Usually these are the immediate causes of this kind of scenario.

Then try to print again.

I70 wont print & Printer Head won't return to the centre

The first error was waste ink near full which you can bypass with resume button, now the absorber is full which means it won't print until you have the drain pack replaced and the counter reset by a shop.

    Problem on a canon 3100

The Power Light Flashes Orange - Error Codes When an error occurs, the power light flashes orange. The number of orange flashes followed by a long green flash indicates the cause of the problem.
Two orange flashes: Out of paper, paper jam, or paper feed error
If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing.
    Three orange flashes: Paper jam
If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing.
Four orange flashes: A tank inside the BJ cartridge (print head) is out of ink
Replace the empty BJ tank and press the Resume button to continue printing.
Five orange flashes: BJ cartridge is not installed properly
Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
Six orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is not installed
Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
Seven orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective
Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge.
Eight orange flashes: Waste ink absorber almost full
The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink that is consumed during print head cleaning. This error indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the Resume button to skip the error so you can continue printing.
The POWER light flashes orange and green alternately: Service error
A service error means the printer requires the attention of a qualified technician. Count the number of flashes. (You may be asked this information.)

If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing. Three orange flashes: Paper jam. If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing. Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge.
