Alba fm6730 mp3 player. How do I put new music on my MP3 player? My computer does not seem to recognise the device :(

SOURCE: cant transfer limewire music from my computer to my mp3

The Limewire music is located in your My Computer> C:>Documents & Settings Folder>Administrators Documents (your name)>Shared Folder. You can manually drag these files from this folder onto your device, located under My Computer>Device Name (there may or may not be a music folder, you should put it in there if there is). Once you drag & drop the files, you should safely disconnect your device, then you are done. Best of Luck.

First, plug it into your computer using the USB cord that should have came ith the player, then goto "my computer" or "computer" if using vista, then clik removable disk, or the name of your mp3 player, if there is a folder or directory called 'music' open, and drag the music in there, if there is no music folder, drag the music in there.

I think I have the same unit as yours.. a Kross TS-2818 - mine does not power up any more... I think the power board hasd gone... Are you still using yours and would you be interested in parts ??

Hi, I have one of these ipod look alike players it's only a 1 gig version i bought for my daughter but she no longer uses it i can dump the Firmware for you and email it of to you if need be.

Other thing i can suggest is you try this site for help.

My new mp3 player won!t down load from my computer
You will need to ensure that you have 'linked' your mp3 player to your computer which would have required you to use an install disc so that your computer would recognise the new hardware. However some computer operating systems will automatically recognise what has been plugged into them via the USB port. You may also need to look at the files you are trying to download to your mp3 player. It might not be able to download them as your mp3 and the files that your are trying to download may not be the same format.
Assuming you have connected your mp3 player to your computer correctly, open the folder marked 'My Computer' on your desktop.
You should see your mp3 player listed as a connected device, click on that to open a browser window
keep the browser window open and look to see where music is stored. There is normally a sample track like Bach.mp3 as a test track.
If you see this file then leave that window open.
Then open the folder on your computer that contains your music files
Select one track at random, then click and hold with your mouse and drag it to the open music folder on your mp3 player (as described earlier). Then drop your music file there by releasing your hold on your mouse. One of two things will happen. You will either see the file copying on to the mp3's music folder or a warning may come up and tell you that this file is not recognised to play on your device.
If your file that you want to have on your mp3 player is not an mp3 file, then don't worry, these can be changed on the internet to an mp3 file so it will play on your mp3 player. Look for Zamzar or in your net web browser put in the search box 'Free file conversion' and that will bring you up lists of sites that will convert your files to the required format you will need.

I have been bought a Alba 1.8lcd MP3 palyer and have installed the cd it came with and it comes up in my computer but after ive put music on it and then go to play it it just says empty file ???
1. May be there is a particular music folder in which you have to copy the songs.
2. otherwise there is something wrong with the device and get it replaced.

How do I download music off my computor onto my mp3 player
Methods vary between different models.
However the usual simple way is to turn MP3 player OFF
Connect MP3 to computer with USB cable. The computer should recognise it as a 'mass storage device'
Locate the music files on your computer (usually in My Documents / My Music
Click START, click MY COMPUTER and look for 'Devices with removable storage' your MP3 player will be listed as something with a letter in brackets e.g. JVC(E:) click on this to open it in a new window.
Click on the tunes you want to copy across and drag them onto the open window for your MP3 player.

As long as the computer would acquire media as videos, the computer mediaprofram should provide the transfer buttons between external connectable devices like mp3 players. However, the media players have various compartibilities recognisable as media formats. The mp3 player should have dictated the compartible format that is capable of being encoded. Important notes includes that, mp3 playes would only encode medias that have been loaded onto the computer completely. For example, if wanting to acquire music transfer to the mp3 player device, the music CD has to be extracted first into the computers media player like windows media player from where transferability is achievable into the MP3 player. Usually, the computer media player should state that the feature functionality is capable of MP3 IPOD transfers. For example, once login to the windows media player software, copy available media files from the files library into the player list area to be manipulated as transfers/sync. Also, the media player of the computer should recognise connected media devices with popup logos indicating transfereabilities.
