I own a Kenmore Pro side by side refrigerator and, after cleaning with the door open for some time, it turned off. After turning it back on and allowing it to cool to it's normal temperature, it continued to beep 5 times, pause a short time, and do it over and over. Any suggestions?

The front should be slightly higher than the rear to aid in door closing... (page 10)

Your refrigerator has two front leveling legs-one on the right and one on the left. Adjust the legs to alter the tilt from front-to-back or side-to-side. If your refrigerator seems unsteady, or you want the doors to close more easily, adjust the refrigerator's tilt using the instructions below: NOTE: Tools Required: 11/16" wrench or flat blade screwdriver.
1. Turn the leveling leg to the left to raise that side of the refrigerator or to the right to lower it. It may take several turns of the leveling leg to adjust the tilt of the refrigerator.
NOTE: Having someone push backward against the top of the refrigerator takes some weight off of the leveling legs. This makes it easier to adjust the legs.
2. Open both doors again and check to make sure that they close easily. If the doors do not close easily, tilt the refrigerator slightly more to the rear by turning both leveling legs to the left. It may take several more turns, and you should turn both leveling legs the same amount... (page 16)

There are 2 different systems I know of for the light shut off because of excessive door open time. One system uses a heat sensor near the light bulb to shut off the light if it gets too hot there. To turn light back on that sensor needs to cool back down after door is closed. Second system for the light off---is that the time light on is actually timed by a electronic part on the mother board. It would come back on until the mother board senses the door closed for a similar amount of time. sometimes just closing and reopening the door will bring it back on, All depends on the type light system.

How are the door seals doing? How clean is the under side of the fridge (the coils and the ability for air to flow). How clean is the back side of the fridge (the coils and the ability for air to flow). How clean is the metal jacket in general?
If you drag the fridge outside to hose it down, let it rest for an hour or two before plugging it back in.

yes it does for temp protection but when closed it should start back few min. after that.

Is it staying cold? Are things staying frozen in the freezer? If everything is okay, then you simply made it a lot more efficient by cleaning the coils! If that is the case, your electric bill will probably go down.

This is what has happened. Due to the door being opened for so long moisture which is naturally in the air has collected on your freezer coils. What you need to do is turn the whole thing off for at least 24 hours. Open the doors and put some towels around it to let the frost melt out.
All the air that gets cooled in your unit gets cooled by a fan that pulls air through those coils. Once the frost has melted out of them it should cool just fine.

This is an easy one to fix - at the bottom of your unit you have 2 adjustable wheels you can turn to raise or lower the unit. What you need to do is turn those clockwise which will raise the front - what you want is to have it slightly tilted to the back. As a test you can open your door 45 degrees and leave it - it should be able to close on its own.

so you mean the vents in the refer/frezer sections? yes ok there is a fan in the frezer section that moves the air thru out the box.its called the evaporator fan.you should hear a vissssss sound when you open the doors.some boxes you have to push the door switch closed with finger because fan goes off win door open.test fan with volt meter,should get 110 volts[may have to push that door switch in when testing]if voltage and not turning get new fan.hope that helps God bless ,tom

take ice bucket out, dump ice, clean with hot water and let dry ,,,, put ice back in and try it ,,, bucket is most likely frozen up thru ports

Evaporator is probably overiced as a result od door not being completly closed at some time recently, turn off and defrost overnight with the doors open, turn on the next day and it should work ok within 24hrs. Regards Advisor
