Code 31 can not connect to internet at computer get a code 31

Open Control Panel and then Device Manager (or System, then Device Manager).

Look for a yellow balloon, this should show you which device is giving the Code 31 error.

Then you need to fix the problem by re-loading the driver.

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down network adapters + expand Ethernet driver if you see a yellow ? ! question or exclamation mark or red x means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver

the driver could be on the motherboard disk or the one supplied by your ISP internet service supplier or you might need to download it

The best way to check if the computer can access to Internet is to boot the computer to "Safemode with Netwroking", to do so, restart the computer and as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select "Safemode with Networking" from the Advance boot menu. Try to connect to internet. If you are able to connect to Internet then the issue is with the firewall on you computer, contact the firewall manufacture or settings. If you are still unable to connect to Internet, then the internet setting are not correct, you may need to contact the ISP.

Microsoft says to Ignore the problem, and the adapter will continue to work correctly. If the message is really annoying maybe you can try turning off IPv6.
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

right click your network card>properties
uncheck the IPv6 box
that'll turn off IPv6-then just disable the adapter driver

Try removing the wireless adapter in the device manager and then re-boot computer. Vista should detect the adapter and re-install the drivers. if that does not work you might want to download the latest drivers and software from Toshiba and install them. Another thing you can try is to use windows restore to return the computer to a time when the wirless adapter was working.

Check these things:

1. Is you Ethernet adapter Active
2. Is your Cable the correct one (NOT a cross over)
3. Refresh your IP Address for your Ethernet Card
4. Reboot your computer and power down your modem, then power the modem up AFTER your windows is logged on
5. Verify your modem "really" can connect, use another computer.
6. Verify the are no network issues with your ISP

What if you remove LAN cable and boot without it.
