Might have a small leak in hose at the conections. Go to auto parts and get a dye to put in system. It will tell you if you have a leak.

SOURCE: A.C. NOT BLOWING COLD

My AC went out suddenly and it turns out I got a major leak in one of the tubes in the AC system and thus warm air. When I bought the first can of refrigerant it didn't take much to get the pressure back where it should be. After some good advise I learned that my compressor was kicking on and off (you'll hear it cycle on and of every few seconds or so) and not STAYING on. Turns out because the system was drained of coolant I had to fill the tank a little at a time and actually go over the recommended pressure to force the air out of the line and get enough coolant in the system to kick the compressor on.
Turns out it was all for not...given the hole in my system it just leaked right out. I live in GA and still don't have it fixed; I was quoted $800 to fix it and figured I could live with it.

You probably have a 134A leak. My 2001 did same thing. Located a leak at bottom of condenser, replaced condenser, and it's fine.

SOURCE: MY AC IS NOT BLOWING COLD

not happy here i bought a machine for recharging A/C and now they have started selling the gas in a can in the supermarkets ,2400€ for a machine and you can buy a can for about 25€ .could have a blocked restrictor valve ,venturi valve by whatever name you call it but its in the actual pipe on american cars and on the new ones here now as well, only need a bit of dirt to move in the system and it will block this valve evan if someone has put a leak sealer in this could cause the valve to clag up and not allow the gas through.strip and clean whole system blowing it out with an airline. This gas has to be recovered with a machine and released into the atmosphere.

AC works for about 300 miles then stops and blows hot air. New AC compressor and freon charge. After sitting for a while it will again blow cold.

I think you have a similar problem to mine. At highway speeds is when it happens. And it is not blazing hot? Right?
Your evaporator is freezing up - as this happens the ice surrounding it prevents the flow of air over the evaporator coils and the result is warm air coming out of the registers. If I turn off the AC for about ten minutes and let unit melt the cold air comes back. This does not occur in stop and go driving.
I combat it by either running the fan at a higher than normal setting to increase air flow over the evaporator and then turning off when it gets too cold, OR using the air control to allow warmer outside air to enter into unit at highway speeds to prevent freezing up.
Newer cars have more sophisticated sensors and controls to prevent this but some older vehicles are subject to this anomaly.
Since it works fine under normal conditions I have not messed around with the freon level in system. If you release a tad of refrigerant the low pressure switch will shut off the compressor sooner and help minimize ice buildup. Good luck.

I changed out the ac blower filter and re charged it and it barely blows cold air on my 2006 Chrysler 300

It could be a host of things ranging from a cracked evaporator coil (expensive) to an inadequate charge. It's definitely refrigerant related. First, the test ports on your refrigerant lines are at the inlet and outlet of your compressor. A compressor is basically a pump acting in reverse. A pump increases pressure. A compressor decreases pressure. The pressure at the inlet of a compressor should be higher than the outlet pressure. If there is no pressure differential than your compressor isn't cycling. Just another expensive fix. First, I'm hoping you put pressure gauges and assured no change in pressure while the engine is running. If the pressure doesn't stay constant than you have a refrigerant leak somewhere. It could be something silly like forgetting to put the lids back on the test ports or something dreadful like a cracked evaporator coil

The Ac compressor in my 2007 chrysler sebring kicks on and off, it blows cold when on and hot when off there is plenty of freon can anyone help me

No- there is not enough refrigerant in the system

You have a leak that has to be fixed first
That is why it cycles, because it is low

Then when people with no knowledge try & add
to the system, they let in air

Now you need a repair shop to straighten all that out

What is the problem now? Please can you help?

If you turn on your AC on one day and nothing happens, you may be dealing with a major component failure. Your vehicle's AC system consists of a compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, a series of tubes and several fans/blowers. If either one of these components fails to do their job, it may result an entire system failure. For example, if the evaporator blower motor burns out, you will get little to no airflow through the vents.
Most modern vehicles also have safety mechanisms that may prevent a component from engaging if the pressure is low in the system due to a refrigerant leak. Refrigerant can leak for many reasons, including undone welds, loose connections, corrosion, physical damage from road debris, etc. Look for oily stains underneath your car, as they may indicate a leak. If you suspect a refrigerant leak, take your car to General Automotive. We will test the pressure and use special dyes to pinpoint the leak.
Warm Air is Coming Out Instead of Cold As you get in your car and turn on your AC, you probably expect it to be blowing hot air for the first minute or two until the system cycles through enough to cool it. But what if the air never gets cold ? Or maybe it it gets cooler, but not cold enough ? No, your car didn't get confused and turned on heat by accident. There is likely a problem with your condenser.
A condenser's job in a vehicle is to cool the warm refrigerant that was used to make the air cold in the evaporator. A condenser has coils and a fan to push the air through the coils and thus cool the refrigerant. If the condenser coils get dirty or clogged, or if the fan fails, the refrigerant won't be cooled completely, so the air will come out warm. It's best to take your vehicle to an experienced AC Repair professional to troubleshoot this problem if you don't know your way around under the hood.
Cold Air Blows Intermittently So you went for a road trip or a long drive, and after 30 minutes of driving realized that your AC suddenly stopped working or switched to blowing warm air. The cold air returns shortly, and the cycle repeats itself for as long as you are driving. What's wrong with your car?
Intermittent cooling is often caused by the components of your vehicle's AC system freezing up. Typically an iced over evaporator is the culprit. An evaporator covered in ice can't cool the air, so you would have to wait until the ice melts, which is why the cold air eventually returns. There may be numerous issues causing the icing-from a dirty cabin air filter to a blocked evaporator drain or an overcharged system. Look for puddles of water under your car-this could be a sign of a freezing problem.

Ac not blowing cold on 2004 wrangler

Was it getting cold before the compressor was changed ?
Could be a list of things including low on freon, restriction in the lines, cooling fan, restriction in air flow thru the condenser, etc.

I have a 2002 honda odyssey that the ac is not working. It blows hot air instead of cold.

Hello,

There are 4 main issues to the AC on a car (not including wiring or more advanced troubleshooting)

1 Recharge (Cheap do it your self Recharge kit from auto shop)

2 The belt that it drives it (Least expensive Replace Belt)

3 The clutch on the compressor (Expensive because you have to puge the system R/R the compressor check the evaporator for damge repressurize system and test.

4 The compressor went bad (Most expensive Usually when a compressor fails it will send metal shavings throughout the system that will cause the system to fail again the soulation is the same as 3 but now you need to replace the evaporator and flush all the AC lines out.
