Window A/C units will dehumidify the rooms as they operate. The unit has drainage at the rear. It is important when installing the unit to ensure that the unit slopes slightly OUTWARD to allow the water to drain to the rear. Otherwise the drain pan fills and the water pours into the room. If the unit IS tilted outward, then check the drainage holes for obstructions.
1. put it on higher position near water drainage, window...etc
2. make hole in water tank
3. put tube in hole and lead tube in drainage or outside (hole in frame of window recommended for long term use). Fix tube with glue
4. take care that water tank is higher than end of the tube
5. done
There is no part number for the drain. find a piece of copper tube that fits inside the hose and ease it up inside the broken drain hole but only a short way. Silicon seal around underneath it
Two things can cause the problem you're having. Either separately or collectively.
1. The drain hole in the drip pan near the rear of the unit is clogged. Sometimes finding the drain hole can be a challenge. As the clog will blend in with the hole. Patience & persistence is what is needed in locating it. A pipe cleaner works well to clear the clog.
2. The rear of the unit does not have enough downward tilt. The general rule of thumb for rear downward tilt is 1/4' to 1/2". This allows the water to flow to the rear of the drain pan and thru the drain hole. Rather than into the house.
John, in addition to tilting the back of the unit 1/4" down, check the drain pan hole for a clog. This would cause the pan not to drain as it should. You may not see the weep hole it's clogged. It would just blend right in.
There is a drainage and it is stucked with dust, mold etc. Just open metal lid on the wall inside your house, where the coil is installed and where you're changing filters, remove air filter, there at bottom you will see the drainage hole (now under water probably). Rent an air compressor from Home Depot or Lowe's, stick the hose to that hole and turn compressor on. This shall blow the drainage through. After that slowly pour 1-2 cups of Chlorox or Tylex in there, let it stand for 15 minutes, then pour some more water and blow with compressed air again, then flush it with water and blow last time. Do that at least once in two years, or you gonna have same problem again.
i think the drainage holes you are reffering to are the ones in the front cowel. You have to remove the wiper arms and the unscrew the cowel to get at the drains.
