sc990 is a general software error. It could be caused by a specific application or function, or it could be caused by a problem with the process control. In general, you can get rid of the sc990 error by turning the machine off with the main power switch (the orange switch on the left side of the copier) but if the error comes right back, the best first solution is to update the machine's firmware.
