Yikes, that's a hard thing to do on a laptop because it's soldered onto the motherboard. You'll have to take the laptop apart to get to the board.

Would this laptop happen to have the Nvidia Graphics Card that was a manufacturing defect across many product lines? I think your laptop is one of the HPdv6000 - dv6999 that had the Nvidia Graphics Card.

If, it's Nvidia, try reflowing the graphics card instead of replacing it. The problem with the card is that it was not seated securley on the board and over time it worked itself loose. You can reseat it yourself. Just let me know if you have the Nvidia Card and would like to give it a shot. I've had success with hundreds of them. I buy them all the time off and resale them because most people think they are done for life.

The display of your system must be real bad. Here is a fix to the issue you have. Follow the steps below.

2. Click the "+" before Driver - Graphics.
3. Click on Run.
4. Complete the installation.
5. Restart the computer.

Do you mean the LCD screen on your HPdv6000? The screen can be bought on E-Bay for less than $100.00. The DV6000 isactaually an easy laptop to change the screen on.

I believe that your LCD panel is the problem, but you should verify that you have good video, by toggling to an external monitor to check your output. If it dispays good, you have an LCD problem.

You may used USB for a reason and that may affected some drives…go to device manager and go to the USB section and delete all the drivers and shutdown the computer and reboot it again. When your computer restarts it will read all drivers installed and reinstall the one that you need only. Remember to clean your computer all the times by running the maintenance go t start and right click on c: and go to property... Start your unit in safe mode and see if the line still appears.
F-7 will get you into safe mode..
If you still have the line, it is a video problem and my need serviceing.
If not, you should try re-installing your firm ware.

Install Media converter, then connect sansa. Then, it should appear in My Computer as Sansa View. You can add it there or use the converter software.
