LT2000 had been working fine, but trying to start

Craftsman LT2000 tractor had been working fine, but trying to start it recently nothing whatsoever happens when I turn the key. Battery appears to be fully charged.

The fuse was blown. I've replaced the fuse twice now and it blows every time I attempt to start it - something is shorted some where?

Make sure there is no corrosion on the battery terminal connections and check the fuse and safety switches clutch, brake, seat.

If it blows immediately it is a short. If it opens over time it is a high amp draw producing heat. Look for bad connections especially the battery terminals. Loose spade connectors are a clue as to which circuit is acting up as they will loosen when overheated also. eric

The first time this happened to me it was because the mower blades were engaged, I had left the red button up when I shut it off.

Craftsman LT2000 Does not move (wheels do not move). blade engages and works finr

I would lower the deck to the lowes setting and look between the frame and the deck toward rear wheels and check the drive belt it sounds like it is slipping or busted.

Check your charging system! The alternator may be bad. If you can't get it repaired, just put a trickle charger on the battery the night before use. That is not a fix but will get you by...Lee

Cratsman lt2000 lawn tractor will start but will not move forward or backward. I tried changing the drive belt, but that didn't work.

Is the transaxle pulley turning? If so have you removed the rear wheel recently and possibly lost the square key that fits on the axle?check those two items first. If ok it probably has a broken gear or shift key in transaxle.
