Soundstream ribcom500 i got this amp off of one of my friends mom.it was her sons amp an her so died in a car accident an it sat in his car for 5 years an she gave it to me to get repaired .....i took it to a local repair shop an they couldnt find out what was wrong with it ....i know about amps an have repaired them but i dont know where to start on this amp ...all the parts read fine but the amp doesnt work at all !!!! i dont know where to start..mybe the pulse width modulator ?????? i dont know .....anyone know what i sould do???

I hope I am correct in thinking your question is concerned with the South African Road Accident Fund. If my guess is correct, Fixya.com, a website intended for questions and and answers on how to go about REPAIRING THINGS, has no affiliation with that insurance fund.

I suggest you or your mother collect copies of all the paperwork and completed forms and all the information regarding your sister's fatal accident and speak with a person at the Road Accident Fund.

well. if it doesn't function after smoking, then it needs to go to a GOOD technician. ( if one is available to you) if not then send it to soundstream. if this was not a good amp , I would advise getting rid of an amp that smoked, however soundstream is a good brand and deserves another chance. (always depending on the cost of repairs)
