VVS sensor .It senses how fast each wheel is spinning 1 on each front wheel .They are moveing parts that spin that work like maginet passing a peice of metal then its open then metal so it generates a pulse it is a simply generator puts out about 5 volts DC you can spin the tire and measure it with a volt meter.
Some times dirt can block them up or a bad correction to them road salt ECT.
This would give you an ABS light because that is what the abs controls under certin brakeing condutions how fast the wheels are spinning witch could also set off the inbalance switch for the regular brakeing system .
Their is also a 3rd sensor on the back or tailstock of the transmission VSS vehicle speed sensor witch relays all of the information to the VCM OR PCM basicaly the computer
So check connections check for debire .Its much more simple then it sounds .Its in the front sensors
