My Acer S200hl monitor suddenly has horizontal white lines on the screen. It gradually fades from very severe lines on the right side to virtually unnoticalbe lines on the left. Any ideas?

It's dying. Pretty much simply that, something electrical or electronic (connections from panel to panel edge connectors, connection to circuit board, or internal to a panel matrix chip). Very likely unserviceable, if under warranty, take it back for service. Only other thing, check connector under back of monitor (if it has a connector at both ends). It's an Acer monitor, they aren't terribly durable, so if it's more than 2 or 3 years old, it's probably on it's way to deadville.

How to change orientation of monitor

I'm a little unclear of what you are asking.

1) Screen has turned on monitor?

Press the CTRL key, and ALT key down at the same time.
Now tap on the Left Side Arrow key, until the screen is oriented correctly again.

2) Screen on monitor has shifted left, right, top, or bottom?
Use the controls on the monitor to set it correctly again.

3) Using dual monitors?
Right-click on an empty space on your desktop screen.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on Settings.

The monitor 1 icon is supposed to be your Primary monitor.
The monitor 2 icon is the Secondary monitor.

Ordinarily the Primary monitor is on the LEFT side, and the Secondary monitor is on the RIGHT side.
Just as shown in the Settings window.

If you wish to move a monitor to the other side, go to the monitor icon you wish to move.

Put your mouse cursor on the monitor icon you wish to move.
Left-click, and hold the left mouse button down.
Now drag the monitor icon you wish to move, to the other side.

Not doing it for you?
Then post in a Comment with more exacting information, as what it is that you wish to do.

Can I fix a flickering band on VP2250wb?

It sounds like one of the backlights are going, or one of the inverter transformer and there are two capacitors near the inverter transformers that do give trouble. The monitor would need to be dismantled to investigate the problem and it will involve money, since it is four years old I would be inclined leave it alone until a new one is required.

The monitor is 10 years old and has decided to cutoff the screen about 1" from the left. Monitor or video card?

If the screen is starting to shrink. The picture is getting smaller and smaller usually a sign on the crt's that the tube is shot. Don't quote me it could be something different.

Flickering crispy screen

maybe ur screen was put into a lot of magnetic interference. so check for any magnetic rays emitting devices like speaker adapters etc. a simple check would be to degauss( its in the screen properties). raja
