In your Windows media Player go into tools and select options. Select rip music and untick copy protect music. The music you have in WMP wont work. you will have to put them in again after you made the changes. Hope this helps

If you want to make a new playlist for your 8 gig GoGear Aria, all you have to do is highlight the songs you want to add, then right click the mouse and choose create playlist. Name the new playlist then cut and paste it into "Playlist" in the music choices and there you go. No WMP needed.

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert and transfer video files to the Philips GoGear. Because the software likes to play a preview of the movie, you may have to download additional codecs to make it work. Copyright-protected or DRM-encrypted video files are not compatible with the GoGear.

in case it doesnt pick up all the songs you transferred to it, you have to turn off the mp3 player and restart it, so it will update itself again.

Subscribe to an online music service that is compatible with your GoGear, such as Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service - I repeat MP3 ONLY - no other Rhapsody service will work.

Use Windows Media Player to transfer songs to your GoGear, or Rip CD's into Mp3 format - I repeat MP3 FORMAT - using Windows Media Player.

Videos must be transferred using the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter that came on the installation CD. You can also get this program from Philips website.

You will only be able to transfer photos to your GoGear if you have used the installation CD that came with the player. It contains a critical file that Philips has never posted to their website called the Philips Device Plug-In.

That player is set up for playlist transfer through Windows Media Player 10 only - you can either: 1) rollback your Windows Media Player to ver. 10; 2) attempt the firmware upgrade by running the Update tab in Philips Device Manager (may not work); 3) reinstall the installation CD - select Repair as your choice - it will add a plug-in that it may have skipped during initial installation. You will have to convert all FLV videos to an AVI format using FLV Encoder or some other free program. Then the media converter will recognize them, and you can transfer them to your GoGear. Copyrighted music videos will not convert no matter what you do.
